Strategy Consultant Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategy consultant in Rhode Island?
Most strategy consultant roles in Rhode Island require a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field, with a master's degree or MBA preferred at senior levels. There is no state-issued license specific to strategy consulting in Rhode Island. Employers here prioritize candidates who combine analytical credentials with direct industry exposure, particularly in healthcare, financial services, or public sector strategy, which are the dominant client segments across Providence-area consulting practices.
How much do strategy consultants make in Rhode Island?
Strategy consultants in Rhode Island earn a median of about $99,640 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $69,640 for the lowest 10% to over $208,000 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire strategy consultants in Rhode Island?
Employers hiring strategy consultants in Rhode Island right now include CVS Health, Fidelity Investments, and Citizens, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of large healthcare systems, insurance carriers, and financial services firms means consulting demand here skews heavily toward those sectors.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most strategy consultant jobs?
Providence, Rhode Island, and Woonsocket account for the most strategy consultant openings in Rhode Island. Providence dominates as the state's commercial and institutional center, home to major healthcare networks, insurance headquarters, and professional services firms, while Cranston and East Providence attract openings tied to corporate back-office and financial operations that support the broader Providence metro economy.
Are there remote strategy consultant jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 79% of strategy consultant openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves analysis, modeling, and slide-based deliverables rather than on-site presence. Project management and client-facing strategy phases tend to require in-person time, while research and analytical work is most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a strategy consultant in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through analyst or associate consultant programs at larger Rhode Island employers like Lifespan or Amica Mutual, which periodically recruit recent graduates into strategy and operations improvement roles. Adjacent positions such as business analyst, financial analyst, or project coordinator at Providence-area firms are common stepping stones. A strong quantitative portfolio, an MBA from a New England program, or a certification in project management or data analytics meaningfully strengthens a candidate's profile for that first consulting role.
Where can I find and apply to strategy consultant jobs in Rhode Island?
You can find and apply to strategy consultant jobs in Rhode Island on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings in the state. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and preferences, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
