Corporate Development Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a corporate development manager in Texas?
Most corporate development managers in Texas enter the field through investment banking, management consulting, or private equity before moving in-house. Texas employers typically require a bachelor's degree in finance or business, and many prefer an MBA from a recognized program. No state-issued license is required for this role in Texas, but a CFA charter or completion of a reputable financial modeling course strengthens candidacy, particularly with energy-sector employers in Houston.
Which companies hire corporate development managers in Texas?
Employers hiring corporate development managers in Texas right now include Amazon, Apple, and Equinix, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's mix of Fortune 500 headquarters in Dallas and Houston and a fast-growing technology sector in Austin means corporate development roles appear across a wide range of industries year-round.
Which Texas cities have the most corporate development manager jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston account for the largest share of corporate development manager openings in Texas. Houston's concentration of energy majors and midstream companies generates steady M&A and joint venture demand, Dallas's financial services and telecom headquarters drive strategic transactions, and Austin's technology growth has produced a rising number of corporate development roles at both public companies and late-stage startups.
Are there remote corporate development manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many finance roles, since corporate development work is largely analytical and document-driven rather than site-dependent. About 25% of corporate development manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting flexibility that has become standard in strategy and M&A functions. Deal sourcing, financial modeling, and due diligence coordination are the tasks most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a corporate development manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a corporate development analyst or associate role, which large Texas employers such as energy companies in Houston and technology firms in Austin hire directly from MBA programs and investment banking analyst pools. Lateral moves from roles in financial planning and analysis, strategy consulting, or business development are common. Completing a recognized financial modeling certification and building a deal case study portfolio gives candidates without direct deal experience a concrete edge in Texas screening processes.
Where can I find and apply to corporate development manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to corporate development manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and target industry, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
