Local award-winning home builder in search of a highly organized, detail-oriented Assistant Estimator/Buildertrend Coordinator to join our team. This is a full-time position that is ideal for someone who enjoys working with construction plans, numbers, subcontractors, vendors, and project management software. Responsibilities of the Assistant Estimator/Buildertrend Coordinator:

• Assist in preparing detailed residential construction estimates and budgets.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from house plans and specifications.
• Solicit and track subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Review construction documents, engineering plans, and specifications.
• Enter and maintain project budgets and estimating information and data in Buildertrend and other various systems.
• Assist with purchase orders, change orders, and cost tracking.
• Maintain accurate pricing databases for labor and materials.
• Compare and analyze vendor and subcontractor proposals.
• Organize project files and maintain estimating records.
• Support the estimating, purchasing, and construction teams throughout the building process.
• Creating scopes of work.
• Filing invoices and entering data into various systems.
• Managing, ordering, and tracking of construction materials.
• Building relationships and working with subcontractors, suppliers and vendors.
• Pre-qualifying subcontractors.
• Setting up and monitoring option costs.
• Performing various analysis of contractors, suppliers, and jobs.
• Analysis of actual costs versus budgets to improve estimating and job costing.
• Preparing bid comparisons and proposal documents.
• Assist with purchasing and material pricing updates.
• Maintain organized job files and documentation.
• Executing new job starts process.
• Addressing issues promptly, efficiently, and in a courteous manner.
• Assist the Pricing & Estimating manager with day-to-day tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications for Assistant Estimator/Buildertrend Coordinator:

• Must have bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or over two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
• Must be able to use construction management software to quantify certain material categories.
• Must have excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
• Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have strong Problem-solving skills.
• Must have ability to identify and quantify certain product categories.
• Must have ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
• Must have ability to analyze information, identifying discrepancies and inconsistencies.
• Must be collaborative and able to work with trade partners and employees across multiple departments.
• Must be self-directed and motivated.
• Must work well with others and function in a team environment.
• Must have very strong customer service and phone skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and must have reliable transportation.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must have great references and work history.
• This is an in-person full-time position only. Neither remote nor part time will be considered

Preferred Qualifications for Assistant Estimator/Buildertrend Coordinator:

• Experience using Buildertrend is strongly preferred
• Experience with any construction managing software.
• Experience with any estimating software.
• Experience in residential construction.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs.
• Estimating, purchasing, project coordination, or construction administration experience.
• Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers.

Buildertrend Experience Matters - Applicants with demonstrated Buildertrend experience in residential construction will receive priority consideration. Candidate experience with budgets, purchase orders, schedules, selections, and project management within Buildertrend is highly valued.

Physical Demand/Work Environment

Work is typically performed in an office environment. Work Hours

This is a full-time position; business hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Occasional travel throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
