Manufacturing Engineering Manager Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a manufacturing engineering manager in Missouri?
The typical path starts with a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, followed by several years of hands-on engineering work in a Missouri facility. Missouri does not require a state-issued license specifically for manufacturing engineering managers, though a Professional Engineer registration through the Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Landscape Architects strengthens candidacy for senior roles. Employers in aerospace, automotive, and defense often prefer candidates who have led continuous improvement initiatives or capital projects at Missouri plants.
Which companies hire manufacturing engineering managers in Missouri?
Companies currently hiring manufacturing engineering managers in Missouri include AAON, US Farathane, and Dodge Industrial, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Missouri's aerospace cluster around St. Louis and its automotive supply chain in Kansas City and the I-70 corridor keep demand steady at both large OEMs and regional Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.
Which Missouri cities have the most manufacturing engineering manager jobs?
Albany, Grandview, and Parkville account for the most manufacturing engineering manager openings in Missouri. St. Louis leads because of its dense aerospace and defense base anchored by Boeing and major defense contractors, while Kansas City draws on a strong automotive and industrial equipment sector, and smaller metro areas like Springfield support regional food processing and plastics manufacturing that regularly fill engineering manager roles.
Are there remote manufacturing engineering manager jobs in Missouri?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of manufacturing engineering manager openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting that most responsibilities require floor presence, equipment oversight, and team supervision at a physical facility. The portions of the role most likely to support remote work are supplier qualification reviews, documentation, and cross-site project coordination rather than day-to-day plant operations.
How can I get hired as a manufacturing engineering manager in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a manufacturing engineer or process engineer role first and building supervisory exposure from there. Large Missouri employers such as Boeing in St. Louis and General Motors in the Kansas City area run new-graduate engineering rotational programs that cycle candidates through production, quality, and process functions, creating a clear track toward a manager title. Lateral moves from industrial engineering, quality engineering, or production supervision at Missouri Tier 1 automotive suppliers are also common. A Professional Engineer registration or a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt credential meaningfully accelerates that progression.
Where can I find and apply to manufacturing engineering manager jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to manufacturing engineering manager jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current Missouri openings updated in real time. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your background and target location, and apply directly through each listing.
