Manufacturing Engineering Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a manufacturing engineering manager in Florida?
The typical Florida path starts with a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering from an ABET-accredited program, followed by several years of hands-on engineering work before moving into management. Florida does not require a state-issued license for this management role, though a Professional Engineer license issued through the Florida Board of Professional Engineers strengthens candidacy at aerospace, defense, and regulated medical device manufacturers. Industry certifications in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma are widely valued across Florida's manufacturing sectors.
Which companies hire manufacturing engineering managers in Florida?
Employers hiring manufacturing engineering managers in Florida right now include Jabil, Leonardo DRS, and Danfoss, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's concentration of aerospace, defense, and medical device manufacturers means demand is particularly consistent along the I-4 corridor and in the greater Tampa Bay and Jacksonville metro areas.
Which Florida cities have the most manufacturing engineering manager jobs?
Fort Walton Beach, Seminole, and Saint Petersburg lead Florida in manufacturing engineering manager openings. Tampa and Orlando drive volume through their dense clusters of aerospace, defense, and medical device operations, while Jacksonville's growing advanced manufacturing and logistics sector anchors demand in northeast Florida. Smaller metros like Melbourne and Palm Bay also contribute meaningfully given the Space Coast's concentration of defense and aerospace contractors.
Are there remote manufacturing engineering manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Manufacturing engineering managers are fundamentally tied to production floors, equipment, and on-site teams, so most roles require a consistent physical presence. About 0% of manufacturing engineering manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions typically involve program or process oversight responsibilities rather than direct floor management.
How can I get hired as a manufacturing engineering manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is moving into a lead or senior manufacturing engineer role first, then building people-management experience by supervising a small team or running a capital project. Large Florida employers like Jabil, L3Harris, and Northrop Grumman offer rotational engineering programs and internal leadership development tracks designed for engineers ready to step up. Earning a Six Sigma Green Belt or pursuing a Professional Engineer license through the Florida Board of Professional Engineers demonstrates readiness for the management level and gives your application a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to manufacturing engineering manager jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to manufacturing engineering manager jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings updated regularly. Search the listings on this page to see what's available right now, find roles that fit your background, and apply directly to the ones that match.
