Job Overview
QCI Group is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to provide on-site inspection services for wastewater and water pumping station facility construction projects. This position will support new construction, rehabilitation, and upgrades involving pumping station facilities, mechanical and electrical systems, controls, yard piping, and related civil/site improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform full-time, on-site inspections to ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, contract documents, and applicable standards.
- Prepare daily reports documenting work performed, labor, equipment, materials, quantities, progress, and site conditions.
- Monitor construction progress, materials, and quantities; identify and document deficiencies or deviations.
- Review contractors pay estimates and quantities for accuracy.
- Prepare measurements and documentation to support project changes, claims, and records.
- Communicate regularly with the Engineer, Owner, Contractor, and regarding progress, issues, and field conditions.
- Assist with resolving field issues and interpreting contract requirements.
- Maintain accurate and organized project records and inspection documentation.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree in civil engineering preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Construction Inspector, or similar role on sanitary sewer or water pumping station projects.
- Proven track record of successfully completing construction inspection assignments.
- Working knowledge of construction practices, contract documents, plans, specifications, and project documentation.
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems associated with pumping station facilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Familiarity with construction management and project documentation software preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
