We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Quality Control Manager to oversee the quality of our installations across multiple active construction projects.
This is a hands-on, field-based position. The ideal candidate will spend the majority of each workday visiting job sites, inspecting installations, identifying deficiencies, and ensuring our work meets company standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Field Inspections
- Visit active construction sites daily to inspect ongoing and completed installations.
- Review the quality of shower enclosures, mirrors, glass partitions, doors, and other glazing systems.
- Ensure installations meet approved shop drawings, specifications, and company quality standards.
- Verify proper glass alignment, hardware installation, clearances, silicone application, and overall workmanship.
- Identify installation deficiencies, damages, or potential issues before work is presented to the client.
- Conduct inspections throughout the installation process rather than waiting until completion.
Quality Control & Issue Resolution
- Document deficiencies with detailed photographs, descriptions, and corrective action requirements.
- Communicate directly with field supervisors, installers, and project managers to address deficiencies.
- Follow up on identified issues to ensure corrective work is completed properly and promptly.
- Identify recurring installation problems and recommend improvements to prevent future occurrences.
- Ensure installations are completed correctly the first time, minimizing rework, callbacks, and unnecessary expenses.
- Verify that all punch-list items are completed before requesting final client inspections.
Field Coordination & Reporting
- Maintain daily communication with project managers regarding installation quality, job progress, and outstanding deficiencies.
- Prepare and submit daily inspection reports with photographs and observations.
- Track outstanding quality issues across multiple projects and ensure timely resolution.
- Coordinate with field teams to prioritize corrections and avoid project delays.
- Participate in job site meetings and inspections when necessary.
- Assist in developing and enforcing standardized installation procedures and quality control checklists.
Safety & Compliance
- Monitor field operations for unsafe work practices and report safety concerns immediately.
- Ensure installations comply with applicable building codes, approved drawings, and manufacturer requirements.
- Verify that installed materials and hardware match approved project specifications.
- Maintain a professional presence on job sites when interacting with general contractors, superintendents, and other trades.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction quality control, field supervision, or installation management.
- Experience in the glass and glazing industry is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, shop drawings, and installation tolerances.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify workmanship deficiencies.
- Ability to manage inspections across multiple active construction projects.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and digital reporting tools to document inspections.
- Ability to communicate effectively with installers, supervisors, project managers, and general contractors.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
