RES is looking for an Operator II to join our restoration and construction field team!
As an Operator II, you will play a key role in executing high-quality construction tasks on restoration and infrastructure projects. You'll operate a variety of construction equipment, assist with grading and elevation setting, and contribute to the daily implementation of site plans.
This is a mid-level operator position, ideal for someone with solid construction experience who is ready to take on more autonomy and help support team communication and task execution.
Experience installing erosion and sediment control measures on stream restoration, stormwater, utility, or heavy civil construction projects is required.
This position requires weekly travel throughout the Southeast, with overnight stays typically occurring Monday through Friday based on project location.

A Day in the Life
You'll start the day by reviewing the construction plan and loading or mobilizing your assigned equipment. You'll operate a range of tools and machines—like tractors, skid steers, or brush cutters—while setting grades and installing features according to site plans.
You'll complete equipment checks, report any maintenance needs, and help ensure site safety protocols are followed. You may also support in training newer crew members in safe practices and help relay instructions from your supervisor to the broader team.
Throughout the day, you'll monitor your work against project specifications, communicate with team members, and perform physically demanding tasks in various terrain and weather.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Capable of walking over uneven surfaces, climbing on construction equipment, and navigating hills.
- Comfortable working outdoors and performing tasks at ground level.
We would like to talk to you if you have many of the following:
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred but not required)
- 2+ years of construction experience
- 1+ year of experience operating construction equipment
- Strong familiarity with safety practices and PPE
- Experience setting grades with smooth transitions and low tolerances (within 0.2 ft)
- Ability to read project plans and implement them in the field
- Basic experience with GPS and grading tools
