Consulting Intern Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a consulting intern in Utah?
Most consulting intern roles in Utah require current enrollment in a business, economics, finance, or related degree program at a Utah university such as the University of Utah, Brigham Young University, or Utah State University. No state-issued license is required for most consulting intern positions. Competitive candidates typically build case interview skills, complete relevant coursework in strategy or operations, and pursue internships through on-campus recruiting or directly through employer career portals.
Which companies hire consulting interns in Utah?
Employers hiring consulting interns in Utah right now include University of Utah, Intermountain Health, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Utah's concentration of technology firms, healthcare systems, and financial services companies in the Salt Lake Valley creates consistent demand for consulting interns across multiple industries throughout the year.
Which Utah cities have the most consulting intern jobs?
The cities with the most consulting intern openings in Utah are Salt Lake City, Lehi, and Ogden. Salt Lake City drives the largest share of openings as the state's primary hub for professional services, finance, and corporate headquarters, while Provo benefits from its proximity to BYU and a dense cluster of technology companies, and smaller markets like St. George reflect regional business growth in southern Utah.
Are there remote consulting intern jobs in Utah?
Yes, and they are more common than in many other intern roles, since consulting work often centers on research, analysis, and presentation rather than on-site operations. About 33% of consulting intern openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader flexibility in the professional services sector. Strategy research, financial modeling, and market analysis tasks are the parts of the role most frequently performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a consulting intern in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying through on-campus recruiting at the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business or BYU's Marriott School of Business, both of which host employer information sessions and case workshops tied directly to local firm hiring cycles. Large Utah employers like Goldman Sachs' Salt Lake City office and Intermountain Health run structured internship programs that accept candidates without prior consulting experience. Participating in case competitions, earning an Excel or data analytics certification, and targeting operations or analyst associate roles at regional firms can open the door for candidates building their first consulting resume.
Where can I find and apply to consulting intern jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to consulting intern jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Salt Lake City, Provo, and other Utah markets. Search the listings to find roles that match your program focus, availability, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
