Role: Senior Cost Accountant
Location: Suwanee, GA (Atlanta Metro Area)
To support the growth of our company, we are building a lean, automation and AI first finance and accounting team. We are looking for experienced, thoughtful, and humble problem solvers, who have worked in start-up companies before, are ready to roll up their sleeves to get the job done and spend every day wondering about and experimenting with ways to evolve themselves and our function further.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end cost accounting for inventory and manufacturing operations, including standard costing, cost roll-ups, variance analysis, and periodic inventory valuation in accordance with US GAAP.
- Manage Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accounting across all revenue streams — hardware sales, software, Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), and professional services — ensuring accurate recognition, allocation, and reconciliation to revenue.
- Account for and monitor warranty costs on product sales, including accrual methodology, true-ups, and analysis of actual claims versus reserves.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations teams on inventory accuracy, cycle counts, obsolescence/excess & obsolete (E&O) reserves, and physical inventory processes.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP (including ASC 330 Inventory, ASC 606 revenue/cost matching) for all cost accounting activities, including technical analysis and disclosures.
- Coordinate and manage external and internal Audit requests related to General ledger, controls testing and financial statements.
- Drive and partner with external/internal teams for process improvements, automation.
Requirements
- Strong financial concepts, knowledge of accounting principles, and clarity on consolidation
- B.A in Accounting with 8–10 years of experience, including working at a Start Up
- CPA and/or Accounting Firm Experience will be a plus
- Strong, working knowledge of NetSuite is required, in particular Manufacturing and Inventory Management; Salesforce is a plus
- Sound knowledge of US GAAP, Revenue, general ledger, multi-country, multi-currency
- Self starters, Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills alongside good IT proficiency; Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with AI applications in finance/accounting will be a plus
