Ready to make your mark in the world of asset management? Spend an unforgettable summer at Invesco alongside a select group of driven students. Our 9-week Summer Internship Program, kicking off in June 2027, offers you the opportunity to delve into the dynamic world of client services within a global investment firm. You'll learn from seasoned professionals, gain hands-on experience, and build connections that will last a lifetime.
As part of our Summer Internship Program cohort, you'll participate in orientation, networking events, development workshops, and volunteer activities. You'll work side by side with talented teams to learn about the business and contribute to meaningful initiatives.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and execute sales plan strategies with the primary focus of prospecting new business
- Identify sales opportunities and advisor needs, cross-sell ideas and introduce new concepts
- Develop asset allocation strategies based on client objectives and risk tolerances
- Analyze regional/product sales trends within participating broker/dealer firms and among individual financial advisors
- Work with various departments/individuals within the organization to provide ‘Best in Class’ service to our financial advisors
- Handle daily administrative tasks to ensure maximum business efficiency, i.e. update and maintain contact management system
- Leverage analytical tools as an added resource to internal/external partners in developing portfolio construction ideas
- Complete internship with a better understanding of the Asset Management industry, specifically distribution

Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program and be a Junior graduating by Summer 2028
- Basic understanding of mutual funds and financial markets
- Understanding of investment advisor relationships
- Strong analytical skills
- Comfortable working with technology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work in one of Invesco’s offices where the program is available

- Working towards a college degree in Finance, Economics or a business discipline major preferred

Does a Career Counselor role qualify as an integral part of my curriculum for CPT?
It qualifies if your program specifically prepares you for counseling, student affairs, or human development work and the job duties align with your coursework. Programs in counseling psychology, higher education administration, or student development typically satisfy this standard. Your DSO makes the final determination, so bring your course catalog and a detailed job description to that conversation.
Can I do CPT as a Career Counselor on a part-time basis while staying in class?
Yes, and part-time CPT is often the better option. Working fewer than 20 hours per week keeps your full-time OPT eligibility intact after graduation, since 12 or more months of full-time CPT eliminates OPT entirely. Many university career center roles are structured as part-time to accommodate student schedules, which makes them a practical fit.
What documents does my employer need to authorize my CPT work?
Your employer doesn't file anything with USCIS for CPT. Authorization happens entirely through your school. You'll need a written offer letter specifying the position, start date, end date, and weekly hours. Your DSO uses that to update your I-20 with the CPT endorsement. You cannot start working until the updated I-20 is in your hands.
How do I find Career Counselor employers who already understand CPT authorization?
