The Opportunity
We are looking for passionate, science-driven students to join us at our Pet Nutrition Center. In this role, you will gain valuable, hands-on experience by working directly alongside our leading Scientists. You will assist in the development and execution of projects, specifically focusing on clinical studies in dogs and cats.
Program Options:
- Summer Internship: June to August
- 6-Month Co-Op: June to December

Your Internship Experience
We are committed to your professional growth and will provide comprehensive exposure to the industry, including:

Qualifications
- Education: Must be an undergraduate (Junior or Senior), graduate (Master's/PhD), or veterinary student actively seeking a degree in Animal Science, Nutrition, Pre-Veterinary Studies, Veterinary Medicine, or a closely related field.
- Academic Standing: A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 is required.
- Work Authorization: Must possess the ability to work in the United States on a permanent and unlimited basis.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $25.00 - $40.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.

Does a Clinical Medical Assistant role qualify for CPT authorization?
It depends on whether the role directly connects to your enrolled curriculum. Clinical Medical Assistant positions that involve patient intake, vital signs, clinical charting, or exam assistance typically align with health sciences and medical assisting programs. Your DSO makes the final determination, so bring a written job description to your authorization meeting and confirm the employer's duties match your program learning outcomes.
Can I work full-time as a Clinical Medical Assistant on CPT?
Full-time CPT, defined as 20 or more hours per week, is permitted but carries a significant consequence: 12 months of full-time CPT eliminates your OPT eligibility entirely. If you plan to use OPT after graduation, keep CPT part-time or limit full-time CPT to under 12 cumulative months. Discuss the tradeoff with your DSO before accepting a full-time offer.
What documents does the employer need to onboard me on CPT?
Your employer will need your updated I-20 showing the authorized CPT, your valid F-1 visa, your passport, and your I-94 arrival record. Employers enrolled in E-Verify will run your documents through that system. Some clinical employers also require a signed training or affiliation agreement, which your school's internship office may need to co-sign before your start date.
Where can I find Clinical Medical Assistant jobs that accept CPT students?

Clinics, urgent care networks, and outpatient practices that have hired international students before are more likely to understand the CPT authorization process and be willing to provide the required training agreement.
What happens if my CPT employer changes my role or location mid-authorization?
Any material change to the job, including a shift in duties, employer location, or employment dates, requires a new or amended CPT authorization from your DSO and an updated I-20. Working outside the terms of your authorized CPT, even temporarily, puts your F-1 status at risk. Notify your DSO immediately if the employer changes anything and hold off on the new arrangement until your I-20 reflects the updated terms.
