Syngenta's Maintenance team is seeking a Maintenance Engineering Co-op in St. Gabriel, LA. The co-op engineering student program is a continuous full-time position. This 30+ year program is open to Mechanical Engineering students who will get to work in the demanding world of chemical facility maintenance. As a Coop Engineer at Syngenta, you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry, and work on real projects finding real solutions. Estimated Duration: May 2027 - June 2028
Accountabilities
- Perform equipment studies for reliability engineering.
- Create sketches and part drawings for fabrication.
- Develop testing and feasibility studies using fundamental engineering principles.
- Scope and execute small capital projects.
- Develop equipment repair procedures and check sheets.
- Assist Maintenance Engineers in daily work.
Qualifications
Required
- Enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering program with a Junior class standing and good academic standing with the university.
- Relevant core basic science/engineering classes through Sophomore level: (ie Physics, Chemistry, Fluids mechanics, Statics, Strengths, Thermodynamics, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Office or equivalent.
- All applicants must be eligible to work in the US and given the duration of the position, no international students will be considered.
- Fluent in English.
- Minimum GPA 2.5 overall/major.
Additional Information
Salary for this position ranges between $20 - $45 hourly.
