Stepful is backed by Y Combinator, Reach Capital, and AlleyCorp, with a recent $31.5M Series B led by Oak HC/FT. We were named the #1 EdTech company in the U.S. by TIME for 2025. We’re improving access to quality healthcare for everyone, everywhere, and improving access to healthcare careers for those who need them most.
Our Values
We credit much of our success to our exceptional team. We’re looking for mission-driven builders who thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and embody our four core values:
Care first: We do whatever it takes for our students to succeed.
Learn quickly: We test, learn with data, and iterate.
Build together: We win when we rely on each other.
Own it: We show up, take initiative, and show pride.

What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the overarching growth strategy for both direct-to-consumer (D2C) training programs and our B2B enterprise partnerships
Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a team of growth marketers, fostering a culture of data-driven experimentation and high performance
Full-Funnel Ownership: Oversee end-to-end campaign strategy and optimization across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, search and emerging platforms
Build and iterate on growth loops (referrals, virality, partnerships, content → paid flywheels)
Funnel & Conversion Optimization: Own top of D2C funnel (traffic → signup → purchase) with consideration for down-funnel (enrollment → retention)
Budget & ROI Accountability: Manage and optimize multi-million dollar monthly budgets while owning core growth metrics (CAC, LTV, payback, retention, CVR rates)
Build dashboards and deeply analyze cohort performance and attribution and make data-driven budget allocation decisions to maximize ROI
Innovation: Stay at the forefront of platform shifts and algorithm changes to maintain Stepful’s competitive edge in the market
What You’ll Bring
8+ years of growth marketing experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership/people management role
Proven track record at a high-growth, scaling startup, successfully overseeing both D2C and B2B initiatives
Deep hands-on expertise in scaling paid social and search, ideally managing budgets exceeding $2M+ per month
Experience building and leading teams, with a focus on professional development and performance management

Get Access To All JobsPerformance Marketing Manager CPT: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Performance Marketing Manager role qualify for CPT authorization?
Yes, if your enrolled program covers marketing, business analytics, data science, or a related field. The DSO looks for a direct curriculum connection, not just a general business role. Performance marketing work, paid search management, conversion rate optimization, attribution modeling, maps clearly to quantitative marketing and analytics curricula. Your offer letter should name those specific duties to make the connection explicit.
Can I do CPT at a fully remote company with no U.S. office?
CPT authorization is tied to your enrollment status and DSO approval, not the employer's physical location. A remote Performance Marketing Manager role is eligible as long as the work connects to your curriculum and your school allows remote CPT placements. Confirm your school's policy with your DSO before accepting a fully remote offer, since some institutions require an employer address on the authorization.
What happens to my CPT status if the employer changes my job duties mid-internship?
Your CPT authorization is issued for a specific employer, location, and role. If your duties shift significantly, say, from paid acquisition to general brand management, your DSO may require a new authorization reflecting the updated scope. Report changes promptly. Working outside your authorized CPT terms is a status violation, and it can affect your OPT eligibility if you accumulate 12 or more months of full-time CPT.
How do I find Performance Marketing Manager roles where the employer understands CPT?
Migrate Mate lists Performance Marketing Manager openings filtered by employers with work-authorization filing history, so you can focus on companies that have navigated F-1 onboarding before. When you reach out, lead with your CPT authorization timeline and confirm the employer can provide a compliant offer letter before your program's submission deadline.
Does full-time CPT affect my OPT eligibility?
Yes. If you accumulate 12 or more months of full-time CPT, you lose all OPT eligibility, including the STEM OPT extension. Part-time CPT at 20 hours per week or less doesn't count toward that limit, regardless of how long you do it. If this Performance Marketing Manager role is full-time, track your total full-time CPT months carefully across all authorizations.
