About Redwood Materials
Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling — keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2017, we're delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.
Operations Program Manager
We are seeking a highly technical Operations Program Manager to lead build readiness & internal ramp execution for hardware manufacturing. This role requires strong hands-on manufacturing engineering instincts, the ability to dive into process capability and equipment readiness, and real experience improving throughput, yield, and reliability at production facilities. You will manage builds from prototypes to mass production, working with cross-functional teams to ensure processes are capable and stable at scale.
Responsibilities will include:

- Define ramp success criteria, build plans, and phase-gate reviews to enable smooth transition from proto → pilot → MP → scale
- Manage program schedules, risks, and dependencies; maintain clear dashboards and communication, escalating critical issues with data-driven options for resolution
- Own factory and supplier readiness for PCBA & box builds: lead technical reviews, capacity & CapEx planning, process qualification, line bring-up, and on-site build support
- Drive yield improvement and issue closure by partnering with internal teams and manufacturing sites to validate process, test coverage, and quality systems
- Lead root cause, containment, corrective action, and long-term process improvements
- Establish run-at-rate requirements and validate capacity at suppliers and internal sites
- Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions for cycle-time reduction, debottlenecking, and throughput increase
- Serve as the primary interface between internal product teams and external manufacturing partners to ensure aligned execution and accountability
- Support go-to-market operational readiness, ensuring supply availability, logistics, and sustaining plans are in place for launch and scale
Desired Qualifications:
- 5+ years in program management, CM operations, manufacturing & process engineering, supplier industrialization, or technical operations in high-volume hardware
- Demonstrated success improving yield, throughput, cycle time, and OEE in production
- Hands-on experience with PPAP/APQP, DOE, SPC, PFMEA, GR&R, control plans
- Strong data analysis skills: Excel/Sheets; SQL, JMP, Minitab or Python beneficial
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
- Experience in automotive or power electronics manufacturing
- Experience scaling hardware production from lab/pilot → volume manufacturing

Get Access To All JobsQuality Control Manager CPT: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Quality Control Manager role qualify for CPT?
Yes, if your degree program in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related field includes coursework or a practicum that the QC Manager duties directly support. Your DSO makes the final determination. Roles focused on inspection oversight, compliance documentation, or process auditing tend to map cleanly to STEM program requirements, but your school's CPT policy governs eligibility.
Can I do CPT as a Quality Control Manager while completing my degree?
CPT is available during your program, not after, and your authorization ends when your program end date passes. Many F-1 students in engineering or operations programs complete QC Manager internships or co-ops during their final year. You must remain enrolled and in valid F-1 status for the entire CPT period, and your DSO must re-authorize each new semester or term if the position continues.
How do I find Quality Control Manager jobs that accept CPT students?
Migrate Mate shows which employers have filed Labor Condition Applications for QC and manufacturing roles, giving you a direct signal of sponsorship readiness rather than guessing from job postings alone. Focus on manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and aerospace firms, since those industries run structured co-op and internship programs that are built around CPT timelines.
Will doing CPT as a Quality Control Manager affect my OPT eligibility?
Part-time CPT (fewer than 20 hours per week) has no effect on OPT eligibility regardless of duration. Full-time CPT (20 or more hours per week) does count: 12 or more months of full-time CPT eliminates your OPT authorization entirely. If a QC Manager role is full-time, track your cumulative full-time CPT months carefully and discuss the trade-off with your DSO before accepting.
What should my offer letter include to get CPT authorized for a QC Manager position?
Your DSO typically requires a written offer letter stating the employer's name and address, your job title, a description of your daily QC duties, your start and end dates, and your weekly hours. The duties section matters most: list specific tasks such as leading inspection audits, writing nonconformance reports, or managing ISO documentation, because vague descriptions like 'assisting with quality' often delay or block DSO approval.
