CPT Real World Evidence Jobs
Real World Evidence roles sit at the intersection of clinical data, epidemiology, and health outcomes research, making them a strong CPT match for graduate programs in biostatistics, public health, or pharmacoepidemiology. Your DSO must confirm the position is an integral part of your curriculum before you start work, and CPT authorization is employer- and position-specific.

Get Access To All JobsReal World Evidence CPT: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Real World Evidence internship qualify for CPT authorization?
It qualifies if the role is directly tied to your degree curriculum, not just tangentially related to your field. For RWE positions, your program must include coursework in epidemiology, biostatistics, health informatics, or a related discipline, and your DSO must confirm the connection in writing. Roles focused on observational study design, claims data analysis, or health outcomes modeling typically satisfy this requirement for biostatistics or public health programs.
Can I do full-time CPT in a Real World Evidence role without losing OPT?
Full-time CPT authorization totaling 12 or more months makes you ineligible for OPT. Most students in RWE roles keep full-time CPT under 12 months by limiting summer placements or structuring part of the work as part-time authorization. Track cumulative full-time CPT hours carefully with your DSO, especially if you've held prior CPT positions in adjacent roles like health economics or clinical data management.
Which employers hire F-1 CPT students for Real World Evidence roles?
Pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, and health insurance analytics teams are the most common CPT sponsors for RWE work. Employers already familiar with OFLC filings for epidemiologists or biostatisticians are generally more receptive to CPT workflows. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with documented DOL filing history for these roles, which reduces the risk of offer withdrawals due to CPT unfamiliarity.
Does CPT for a Real World Evidence role affect my future H-1B eligibility?
CPT itself doesn't affect H-1B visa eligibility, but it doesn't count toward H-1B cap-subject time either. If your RWE employer later wants to sponsor you for an H-1B, they'll file a new petition subject to the lottery. RWE roles in pharmaceutical and biotech settings frequently lead to H-1B sponsorship given the specialized degree requirements, but that's a separate process initiated after your CPT period ends.
What documents do I need to start a CPT-authorized Real World Evidence job?
You need a valid I-20 with CPT authorization listed for the specific employer and position, your original I-20 from prior enrollment periods if applicable, a written offer letter confirming your start date and job duties, and proof of full-time enrollment or an approved exception from your institution. Your I-20 must be updated before your first day of work. USCIS does not issue a separate EAD for CPT, so your endorsed I-20 is the authorization document.
