If your employer rotates you to a new project at a different client site with substantially different duties, check with your DSO first, as some schools treat that as a separate CPT placement requiring updated authorization.
How does full-time CPT for a structural engineering role affect my OPT eligibility?
Twelve or more months of full-time CPT exhausts your OPT eligibility entirely, including the STEM extension. Part-time CPT, defined as fewer than 20 hours per week, doesn't count against that limit regardless of duration.
