Who's Hiring

Cybersecurity Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a cybersecurity job in Seattle?
Focus your search on Seattle's largest hiring sectors: cloud and enterprise tech in South Lake Union and the Eastside, defense contractors near Boeing Field, and healthcare systems in the First Hill and South Lake Union medical corridor. Hands-on experience with cloud security platforms carries significant weight here given the concentration of AWS and Azure infrastructure work. Certifications like CISSP, CEH, or Security+ strengthen applications at enterprise employers, while a background in DevSecOps opens doors at Seattle's many software-first companies.
Which companies hire cybersecuritys in Seattle?
Employers hiring cybersecuritys in Seattle right now include Astrion, DCS, and Starbucks, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Seattle's hiring base includes major cloud platform companies, regional financial institutions, defense and aerospace contractors, and large hospital networks, all of which maintain dedicated security teams.
Are there remote cybersecurity jobs in Seattle?
Yes, though it depends heavily on the role. Analytical and engineering functions like threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and cloud security architecture are commonly offered remotely, while roles requiring physical access to networks or hardware tend to be on-site. About 60% of cybersecurity openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the area's tech-forward employer base. Policy, GRC, and detection engineering roles show the highest remote availability among Seattle postings.
How can I get a cybersecurity job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Seattle is through IT support or systems administration roles at mid-size tech companies or managed service providers, which often promote internally into security positions. Seattle-area employers in healthcare and retail technology regularly hire security analysts at the junior level, particularly candidates who hold CompTIA Security+ or have completed hands-on lab programs. Networking through the Pacific Northwest chapter of ISSA and local security meetups in Capitol Hill and South Lake Union has helped many entry-level candidates make connections that lead to referrals.
