Data Analyst Lead Jobs in Kansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data analyst lead in Kansas?
There is no state-issued license required to work as a data analyst lead in Kansas. The standard path begins with a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, followed by several years working as a data analyst or business intelligence developer. Kansas employers, particularly in healthcare and financial services, favor candidates who have progressed through analyst roles at recognized Kansas institutions and can demonstrate experience leading small teams or mentoring junior analysts.
How much do data analyst leads make in Kansas?
Data analyst leads in Kansas earn a median of about $98,130 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,520 for the lowest 10% to over $154,990 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data analyst leads in Kansas?
Companies currently hiring data analyst leads in Kansas include Children's Hospital Association, Garmin, and WellSky, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Kansas's concentration of large healthcare networks, insurance carriers, and agribusiness corporations means demand for experienced data leaders is distributed across both corporate headquarters and regional operations centers throughout the state.
Which Kansas cities have the most data analyst lead jobs?
Overland Park, Wichita, and Lenexa have the most data analyst lead openings in Kansas. Overland Park drives the highest volume due to its dense cluster of corporate headquarters and financial services firms, while Wichita reflects strong demand from healthcare systems and aerospace manufacturers, and Topeka contributes steady openings through state government agencies and insurance carriers headquartered there.
Are there remote data analyst lead jobs in Kansas?
Yes, and more than most fields. Data analyst lead work is desk-based and output-driven, which makes it well suited to remote arrangements. About 53% of data analyst lead openings tied to Kansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly distributed this type of role has become. Strategic oversight, dashboard development, and stakeholder reporting are the functions most commonly performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a data analyst lead in Kansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a junior data analyst or reporting analyst role at a large Kansas employer, then building toward lead responsibilities over time. Healthcare organizations such as the University of Kansas Health System and major Wichita hospital networks regularly bring on entry-level analysts who grow into lead roles internally. Building a portfolio of SQL projects and earning a recognized certification in a BI platform strengthens a candidate's profile considerably before applying to lead-level postings.

You can find and apply to data analyst lead jobs in Kansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Kansas openings across industries including healthcare, financial services, and state government.
