Data Analyst Lead Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data analyst lead in Florida?
There is no state-issued license required to work as a data analyst lead in Florida. The typical path starts with a bachelor's degree in statistics, computer science, economics, or a related field, followed by several years in analyst or senior analyst roles. Florida employers, particularly in healthcare and finance, favor candidates who have completed industry certifications such as Tableau Desktop Specialist or the Google Data Analytics Certificate before moving into a lead position.
How much do data analyst leads make in Florida?
Data analyst leads in Florida earn a median of about $115,820 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $63,080 for the lowest 10% to over $174,140 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data analyst leads in Florida?
Employers hiring data analyst leads in Florida right now include Northrop Grumman, Deloitte, and CoStar, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's concentration of large hospital systems, insurance carriers, and defense contractors means demand is distributed across multiple industries rather than a single sector.
Which Florida cities have the most data analyst lead jobs?
Miami, Tampa, and Orlando have the most data analyst lead openings in Florida. Miami's concentration of financial services and international logistics firms, Tampa's growing technology and health insurance sector, and Orlando's hospitality analytics and defense contracting base drive most of the demand, with Jacksonville adding volume through its large banking and insurance employer footprint.
Are there remote data analyst lead jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 43% of data analyst lead openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how naturally the role fits distributed work. Strategic and reporting-focused responsibilities translate most readily to fully remote arrangements, while roles requiring close collaboration with on-site engineering or operations teams are more likely to require hybrid scheduling.
How can I get hired as a data analyst lead in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a senior individual-contributor analyst role into a lead position at a mid-size Florida company rather than targeting large enterprises from the start. Healthcare systems like AdventHealth and BayCare run structured analytics associate programs that build toward lead roles, and Florida's insurance sector regularly promotes analysts who earn a BI tool certification. Building a portfolio of end-to-end projects, from raw data cleaning through executive dashboards, is the single credential that most consistently shortens the timeline.
Where can I find and apply to data analyst lead jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to data analyst lead jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings, find roles that fit your experience and target metro, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
