Data Analytics Lead Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data analytics lead in Washington?
The typical path starts with a bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field, followed by several years in an analyst or senior analyst role. Washington does not require a state-issued license for data analytics leads, but employers in regulated industries like healthcare often expect familiarity with HIPAA data governance. Building experience with cloud platforms common among Washington tech employers, then moving into a team lead or project lead capacity, is the most direct route to a lead title.
How much do data analytics leads make in Washington?
Data analytics leads in Washington earn a median of about $163,350 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,930 for the lowest 10% to over $220,040 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data analytics leads in Washington?
Employers hiring data analytics leads in Washington right now include Amazon, Amazon Web Services, and Meta, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Washington's concentration of major technology headquarters and large healthcare networks means demand for lead-level analytics talent is particularly consistent throughout the Seattle metro and Eastside corridor.
Which Washington cities have the most data analytics lead jobs?
Seattle, Bellevue, and Redmond have the most data analytics lead openings in Washington. Seattle and Bellevue drive the bulk of listings because of the dense cluster of technology companies and enterprise headquarters in those cities, while Redmond's concentration of Microsoft campuses and its ecosystem of partner firms makes it a consistent source of lead-level analytics roles independent of broader market swings.
Are there remote data analytics lead jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 50% of data analytics lead openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, reflecting how naturally the work translates to distributed environments. Strategic planning, dashboard development, and stakeholder reporting are the parts of the role most commonly performed fully remotely, while onboarding new team members and aligning with product or engineering partners more often requires in-person or synchronous collaboration.
How can I get hired as a data analytics lead in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a senior individual contributor analytics role at a Washington employer, then moving into lead responsibilities by owning a project or mentoring junior analysts. Large Washington-based technology and healthcare employers run rotational data programs and new-grad cohorts that place analysts onto product or enterprise teams where informal leadership emerges quickly. Adjacent roles such as business intelligence developer, data engineer, or product analyst at companies like a major cloud provider or regional health system are common lateral moves that build the credibility needed for a formal lead title. A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end analysis and a stakeholder presentation gives candidates without a lead title a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to data analytics lead jobs in Washington?
