Data Manager Jobs in Austin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a data manager job in Austin?
Target Austin's three strongest hiring pools: enterprise tech and SaaS companies clustered in the Domain and North Austin, health systems such as those anchored along the medical corridor, and fintech firms downtown. Candidates who combine SQL or Python proficiency with hands-on experience governing large datasets stand out locally. Tailoring your resume to whichever sector you pursue, and applying directly through company career portals, moves applications forward faster than generic submissions.
Which companies hire data managers in Austin?
Companies currently hiring data managers in Austin include Amazon, Apple, and Meta, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Austin's mix of Fortune 500 regional offices, fast-growing SaaS firms, and major health networks means openings appear across a wide range of employer sizes and industries.
Are there remote data manager jobs in Austin?
Yes, though availability depends on the role: analytical and governance-focused data manager positions tend to be remote-friendly, while roles requiring hands-on management of on-site infrastructure or direct lab and clinical data are typically in-person. About 55% of data manager openings tied to Austin are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the tech-heavy composition of the local market. Cloud-focused and SaaS employer roles account for the largest share of fully remote postings.
How can I get a data manager job in Austin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Austin is landing a data analyst or data coordinator role first, then stepping into management after demonstrating ownership of a data pipeline or reporting process. Austin Community College and the University of Texas offer certificate programs in data management that local mid-size tech and healthcare employers recognize. Entry-level openings at health systems, government contractors based in North Austin, and SaaS startups in the Domain frequently list data coordinator titles that feed directly into data manager tracks within one to two years.
