Entry Level Data Migration Consultant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level data migration consultant job?
Employers hiring at this level look for hands-on exposure to data tools like SQL, ETL pipelines, or cloud platforms, even if that experience came from coursework, personal projects, or a short internship. A portfolio showing a completed migration or data transformation project signals readiness better than credentials alone. Certifications in platforms like AWS, Azure, or Talend can also give entry level candidates a concrete edge over other applicants.
Which companies hire entry level data migration consultants?
Companies hiring entry level data migration consultants right now include Metropolitan Transportation Authority, MongoDB, and Accenture, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including technology consultancies, managed service providers, and enterprise software firms that bring on junior talent to support large-scale client migration projects.
Are there remote entry level data migration consultant jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and project phase. About 33% of entry level data migration consultant openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the technical and project-based nature of the work. Some roles require on-site presence during critical migration windows or client onboarding, so read each listing carefully to confirm the work arrangement before applying.
Are these new grad data migration consultant jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles alongside other entry level postings. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic projects in place of full-time history, and does not require prior consulting titles. If the listing mentions mentorship, training programs, or a willingness to develop skills on the job, it is a strong signal the role is open to new graduates.
Which industries hire the most entry level data migration consultants?
Entry Level data migration consultant roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Retail, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they run large volumes of legacy data across systems and rely on junior consultants to support migration execution, data validation, and quality assurance throughout each project cycle.
