Data Operations Manager Jobs in Idaho: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data operations manager in Idaho?
Most data operations managers in Idaho enter the role through a combination of a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or business analytics and several years of hands-on experience in data engineering or analytics. Idaho does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers in Boise and the Treasure Valley increasingly value certifications from vendors like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, along with demonstrated experience managing data quality and operational workflows.
How much do data operations managers make in Idaho?
Data operations managers in Idaho earn a median of about $162,240 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $92,680 for the lowest 10% to over $219,380 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data operations managers in Idaho?
Employers hiring data operations managers in Idaho right now include Paylocity, Simplot Company, and Micron Technology, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Idaho's technology manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services sectors drive consistent demand for this role across the state.
Which Idaho cities have the most data operations manager jobs?
Boise, Meridian, and Idaho account for the largest share of data operations manager openings in Idaho. Boise dominates because it anchors the state's technology, finance, and healthcare employer base, while Nampa and Idaho Falls carry openings tied to regional healthcare networks and agribusiness operations technology that have grown considerably in recent years.
Are there remote data operations manager jobs in Idaho?
Yes, and more than most fields, because data operations work is largely desk-based and platform-driven. About 20% of data operations manager openings tied to Idaho are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how transferable this work is across locations. Pipeline monitoring, data governance oversight, and reporting functions are the parts of the role most commonly performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a data operations manager in Idaho with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is starting as a data analyst, data coordinator, or database administrator at a large Idaho employer and building toward an operations management role internally. Micron Technology and St. Luke's Health System both run structured associate and rotational programs that place early-career candidates in data-adjacent roles. Building a portfolio of SQL projects, completing an AWS or Azure certification, and targeting Idaho's growing agtech and healthcare data teams gives candidates without direct management experience a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to data operations manager jobs in Idaho?
You can find and apply to data operations manager jobs in Idaho on Migrate Mate, which lists current Idaho openings for this role. Search the listings, find the roles that match your background and preferences, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
