Data Science Manager Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data science manager in Colorado?
There is no state-issued license required to work as a data science manager in Colorado. Most candidates build toward the role by earning a bachelor's or master's degree in data science, statistics, or computer science, then accumulating several years of individual-contributor experience before moving into team leadership. Colorado employers, particularly in Denver's tech corridor and Boulder's startup ecosystem, commonly promote senior data scientists or machine learning engineers who demonstrate project ownership and mentorship skills.
Which companies hire data science managers in Colorado?
Colorado data science manager roles are posted by Ibotta, Gusto, and DaVita and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's mix of aerospace primes, health systems, and fintech firms means openings appear across a broader range of industries than in most states.
Which Colorado cities have the most data science manager jobs?
Denver, Boulder, and Colorado are the Colorado cities with the most data science manager openings. Denver dominates because it is home to major corporate headquarters, large health systems, and a dense fintech and tech services sector, while Boulder's concentration of research institutions and growth-stage technology companies drives strong demand in that market as well.
Are there remote data science manager jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 89% of data science manager openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and collaborative nature of the role. Strategic planning, stakeholder reporting, and model review work translates well to remote settings, though some employers in aerospace and healthcare require on-site presence for data governance or compliance reasons.
How can I get hired as a data science manager in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is moving into management from a senior individual-contributor role rather than applying to manager titles directly. Large Colorado employers such as UCHealth and Lockheed Martin hire data scientists and machine learning engineers who can build toward leadership over one to two years. A strong portfolio of end-to-end project work, combined with experience mentoring junior analysts or leading a project team, is what Colorado hiring managers treat as a substitute for formal management tenure.
Where can I find and apply to data science manager jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to data science manager jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings. Search the listings on this page, find the roles that fit your background and target industry, and apply directly to the ones that match.
