Entry Level Data Visualization Developer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level data visualization developer job?
Build a portfolio of two or three projects that demonstrate your ability to turn raw data into clear, interactive visuals using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js. Employers at this level look for hands-on evidence over years of experience, so internship work, coursework projects, or self-directed datasets all count. Tailoring your portfolio to the industry you're targeting gives you a concrete edge.
Which companies hire entry level data visualization developers?
Companies hiring entry level data visualization developers right now include Pyrovio, Apple, and Datadog, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including technology firms, consulting agencies, healthcare organizations, and financial services companies building out their data and analytics teams.
Are there remote entry level data visualization developer jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and role. About 83% of entry level data visualization developer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, making this a field where new grads have real flexibility in where they work. On-site roles still exist, particularly at companies that want junior developers working closely with data and product teams during the early learning period.
Are these new grad data visualization developer jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic projects as qualifying work, or asks for a portfolio rather than a professional history. If a role lists a bachelor's degree and foundational tool knowledge as the main requirements, it's designed for candidates entering the field for the first time.
Which industries hire the most entry level data visualization developers?
Entry Level data visualization developer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Electronics & Hardware, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors generate large volumes of data that need to be communicated clearly to non-technical stakeholders, which is exactly the kind of work entry level developers are brought in to support from day one.
