Entry Level Dental Hygienist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level dental hygienist job?
Entry level dental hygienist employers look for candidates who hold an active state license, have completed accredited dental hygiene coursework, and can show hands-on clinical hours from their program. A strong internship placement, a letter of recommendation from a supervising dentist, and comfort with digital charting software give new applicants a real edge. Applying directly to general and specialty dental practices increases your chances at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level dental hygienists?
Companies hiring entry level dental hygienists right now include Aspen Dental, 42 North Dental, and Heartland Dental, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, both independent dental practices and larger dental service organizations actively recruit new graduates, so casting a wide net across practice sizes and ownership models tends to produce the best results.
Are there remote entry level dental hygienist jobs?
Yes, though most dental hygienist work requires in-person patient care, a portion of roles include remote or hybrid components such as tele-triage consultation or administrative coordination. About 0% of entry level dental hygienist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so the majority of new grad positions remain on-site in clinical settings.
Are these new grad dental hygienist jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior dental hygienist roles. A posting is generally new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts clinical hours completed during a dental hygiene program as qualifying experience, or explicitly invites candidates who are newly licensed. Look for language like 'will train' or 'new grads encouraged to apply' in the listing description.
Which industries hire the most entry level dental hygienists?
Entry Level dental hygienist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Non-Profit & Social Services, and Medical Devices, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive new-grad hiring because routine preventive care and patient throughput create consistent demand for licensed hygienists who can step into an established clinical workflow without requiring years of independent practice experience.
