Entry Level Diagnostic Radiologist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level diagnostic radiologist job?
Completing your residency and obtaining board certification from the American Board of Radiology is the foundational step most employers require at the entry level. Beyond that, subspecialty fellowship training in areas like neuroradiology or musculoskeletal imaging gives new candidates a competitive edge. Strong letters of recommendation, a focused CV highlighting clinical rotations, and familiarity with PACS systems help demonstrate readiness for independent practice in a first role.
Which companies hire entry level diagnostic radiologists?
Companies hiring entry level diagnostic radiologists right now include Optum, Cleveland Clinic, and Ascension, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from large hospital systems, radiology group practices, teleradiology companies, and outpatient imaging centers actively building their physician teams.
Are there remote entry level diagnostic radiologist jobs?
Yes, though most entry level positions still require on-site presence for hands-on clinical experience. About 20% of entry level diagnostic radiologist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with teleradiology roles making up the majority of those flexible arrangements and increasingly welcoming candidates who are newly board-certified.
Are these new grad diagnostic radiologist jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior diagnostic radiologist roles. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes candidates with zero to two years of post-residency experience, accepts fellowship or clinical rotation work in lieu of independent practice history, or explicitly lists new grads as an intended applicant group. Completing residency is usually the key qualifier rather than years in a standalone role.
Which industries hire the most entry level diagnostic radiologists?
Entry Level diagnostic radiologist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate high-volume imaging departments, teleradiology networks, or outpatient facilities that regularly bring on newly credentialed physicians to meet patient demand.
