Director, Product Management Jobs in Alaska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a director, product management in Alaska?
Director, product management is not a state-licensed role in Alaska, so there is no board exam or registration required. The standard path begins with a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or computer science, followed by several years in associate or mid-level product management roles. Alaska employers, particularly in telecommunications and energy, place significant weight on demonstrated leadership in remote or distributed team environments, and certifications such as the Pragmatic Institute's PMC or the AIPMM CPPM credential strengthen candidates considerably.
How much do Director, product managements make in Alaska?
Director, product managements in Alaska earn a median of about $116,270 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,640 for the lowest 10% to over $196,800 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire director, product managements in Alaska?
Companies currently hiring director, product managements in Alaska include Goldbelt, American Traveler, and Liquor Stores USA, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Alaska's dominant industries of telecommunications, oil and gas technology, and regional healthcare systems generate the most consistent director-level product openings in the state.
Which Alaska cities have the most director, product management jobs?
Anchorage, Juneau, and Alaska hold the largest concentration of director, product management openings in Alaska. Anchorage drives the majority of listings as the state's commercial and corporate headquarters hub, while Fairbanks and Juneau contribute openings tied to state government technology programs, University of Alaska system initiatives, and regional healthcare and energy operators headquartered in those cities.
Are there remote director, product management jobs in Alaska?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 11% of director, product management openings tied to Alaska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and strategic nature of the role. Product strategy, roadmap planning, and stakeholder alignment work translates well to distributed arrangements, and many Alaska employers in technology and healthcare actively recruit remote product leaders to offset the state's limited local talent pool.
How can I get hired as a director, product management in Alaska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a mid-level product manager role first, then building toward director level over two to three years. GCI and Providence Health and Services have brought on associate product managers from project coordination and business analysis backgrounds, and the University of Alaska system occasionally posts product and program management roles that serve as stepping stones. Building a portfolio of product outcomes, shipping documented case studies, and earning a recognized certification such as the Pragmatic Institute PMC improves candidacy considerably with Alaska employers.
Where can I find and apply to director, product management jobs in Alaska?
You can find and apply to director, product management jobs in Alaska directly on Migrate Mate, which lists current Alaska openings updated in real time. Search the listings, find the roles that match your experience and target industry, and apply directly through each posting.
