Frame your degree for specialty occupation
AI Strategy Manager roles require a direct-field degree to satisfy E-3 visa specialty occupation rules. A business or computer science degree works; a general arts degree with unrelated experience usually doesn't. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before applying.
Target companies with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for employers who have filed LCAs for strategy or AI-related job titles. Prior LCA filings signal a company already understands the E-3 process, which shortens the sponsorship conversation considerably.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsoring employers
Searching broadly wastes time on employers unfamiliar with the E-3. Use Migrate Mate to filter AI Strategy Manager roles by verified E-3 sponsorship history, so your applications go to hiring teams who already know the process.
Raise the E-3 before the offer stage
Don't wait for an offer to mention visa sponsorship. During the final-round interview, confirm the company can file an LCA with the DOL. Employers unfamiliar with E-3 often stall here, so coming prepared with a one-page explainer helps move the process forward.
Align your offer letter with LCA wage requirements
Your offered salary must meet DOL prevailing wage for the AI Strategy Manager SOC code in the role's metro area. Ask your employer to confirm this before the LCA is submitted. A wage shortfall is the most common reason for LCA delays.
Streamline LCA filing and consulate prep together
The LCA and DS-160 must be coordinated carefully to avoid timeline gaps. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork, ensuring both steps move in sequence without the errors that typically push consulate appointments weeks later.
E-3 Visa AI Strategy Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find AI Strategy Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can filter AI Strategy Manager positions by companies with verified E-3 filing history, which removes the guesswork of cold-applying to employers who may not understand the visa process at all.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an AI Strategy Manager role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as computer science, management information systems, or business analytics. The position must theoretically and practically require that degree. Roles framed as general management with AI as a secondary responsibility can face more scrutiny from consular officers during the interview.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for AI Strategy Manager roles?
The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been exhausted, so there's no lottery. You can apply directly after receiving a job offer without waiting for a random selection result. The H-1B visa requires entering a March lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate, meaning most applicants wait a year or more. For Australians, the E-3 is simply a more direct route to starting work.
Can I change employers or get promoted while on an E-3 as an AI Strategy Manager?
Changing employers requires a new LCA and a new E-3 visa, so you'll restart the DOL and consulate process with the new company. An internal promotion that materially changes your job duties may also require an amended LCA to reflect the updated role and prevailing wage. Plan at least 30 to 60 days for the employer to file a fresh LCA before you transition.
