Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Application Development Manager
Document your technical degree equivalency early
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted for E-3 specialty occupation purposes, but gather your transcripts and a credential evaluation before interviewing so you can confirm eligibility on the spot without delays.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway disclosure data for companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for software development or IT management roles. Those employers already understand the sponsorship process and are far less likely to withdraw an offer over paperwork concerns.
Clarify the LCA before accepting an offer
Application Development Manager titles vary widely across organizations. Confirm with the hiring team that your job duties map to a specialty occupation requiring a specific technical degree, not just general management experience, before the LCA is filed with DOL.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your paperwork
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This matters for management roles where the specialty occupation classification requires precise job duty documentation to satisfy USCIS standards at the consulate.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions as a manager
Consular officers scrutinize senior roles more closely for immigrant intent. Bring documentation showing your Australian ties, the temporary nature of the assignment, and a clear organizational chart showing your reporting structure to support a clean E-3 interview outcome.
Negotiate employer-side filing responsibilities upfront
The LCA is a legal obligation on the employer, not you. Confirm during the offer stage that HR or legal counsel will file with DOL before your consulate appointment, so your start date isn't delayed by internal administrative bottlenecks.

Find Application Development Manager JobsApplication Development Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Application Development Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search Application Development Manager roles filtered specifically for E-3 visa sponsorship, so you're not wading through listings from employers who won't sponsor Australian nationals. The platform surfaces companies with active sponsorship history, which saves you from the common experience of reaching the offer stage only to discover HR has never filed an LCA.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Application Development Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
Yes, provided the role genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as computer science, software engineering, or information systems. The complication is that some organizations classify Application Development Manager as a general management role where any degree suffices. If your employer's job description doesn't specify a technical degree requirement, the LCA filing could be challenged at the consulate.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Application Development Manager roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no cap backlog, so you can start within weeks of an offer rather than waiting years. H-1B registrations for software and IT management roles face a roughly 25% selection rate in the current lottery, meaning most applicants aren't selected in their first year. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is the direct route without that uncertainty.
Can I change employers on an E-3 while working as an Application Development Manager?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new visa stamp if yours was issued for your previous employer. There's no H-1B-style portability for E-3, so plan a realistic timeline between your last day with the current employer and your new consulate appointment to avoid a gap in authorized status.
