E-3 Visa Audiologist Jobs
Audiologist roles in the U.S. qualify as E-3 specialty occupations, requiring a master's or doctoral degree in audiology. Australian audiologists can pursue E-3 visa sponsorship without facing H-1B lottery uncertainty, and the visa renews indefinitely provided you maintain qualifying employment in a licensed clinical or research setting.

Confirm your Australian degree equivalency early
U.S. audiology requires a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) at the clinical level. If your Australian master's or bachelor's degree predates the Au.D. standard, get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before approaching employers.
Target employers with active state licensure support
You'll need a state audiology license before you can practice independently, and licensing timelines vary by state. Ask prospective employers whether they sponsor provisional or supervised practice while your license application is pending.
Use OFLC Wage Search to benchmark your offer
Your employer must certify an LCA showing your salary meets the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Check the OFLC Wage Search before negotiations so your offered salary clears the threshold without surprises at the DOL filing stage.
Look for audiology roles in underserved or hospital settings
Large hospital networks, VA medical centers, and rural health systems are consistent E-3 visa sponsors because they face persistent staffing shortages. Roles in pediatric audiology and cochlear implant programs particularly draw on international candidates with specialized training.
Prepare your employer for the LCA process before accepting
Many smaller audiology practices have never filed an LCA. Walk your HR contact through the DOL's Labor Condition Application requirements early, so the certification timeline doesn't delay your start date or your consulate appointment.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the full process
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork from start to consulate appointment. This is especially useful if your employer's HR team has no prior E-3 experience.
E-3 Visa Audiologist: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Audiologist jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 visa sponsorship. Rather than filtering through general job boards that don't distinguish E-3 from other visa types, Migrate Mate surfaces audiology and healthcare roles where employers have a history of sponsoring Australian candidates on work visas.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does the Au.D. requirement affect my E-3 specialty occupation qualification?
Yes, and it works in your favor. Because audiology now requires a doctoral-level degree for clinical licensure in most U.S. states, the specialty occupation standard is straightforward to meet. Your Australian master's degree or equivalent will need a credential evaluation, but the degree-to-role match is clear-cut compared to fields where the educational requirement is contested.
How does the E-3 compare to H-1B for Australian audiologists?
The E-3 is significantly more practical. The H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, meaning you could apply and still not receive a slot. The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been exhausted, so there's no lottery and no waiting year. You can also apply at a U.S. consulate in Australia without needing to change status from within the U.S.
Can I start working before my state audiology license is issued?
Some states allow supervised or provisional practice while your license application is processed, but this varies. Your E-3 visa doesn't resolve the state licensing question. Confirm with your employer whether the role is structured for supervised practice during the licensing window, and check your target state's audiology board requirements before accepting an offer.
