E-3 Visa Clinical Therapist Jobs
Clinical Therapist roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship when tied to a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, or a related clinical field. Australian licensed therapists can secure two-year renewable E-3 status without entering a lottery, making this one of the most direct paths to U.S. practice.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Clinical Therapist
Verify your Australian credentials translate correctly
U.S. employers need proof your degree maps to a clinical counseling or psychology field. If your Australian qualification has an unfamiliar title, get a credential evaluation from a USCIS-recognized service before applying so employers don't reject you on document grounds.
Target employers who hold active state licensure sponsorship
Many U.S. therapy roles require state licensure as a condition of employment, not just E-3 status. Identify employers in states with provisional or supervised practice licenses so you can legally work while completing any remaining U.S. licensure requirements.
Ask employers about LCA filing before accepting offers
The Labor Condition Application must be certified by DOL before your visa interview. Confirm your prospective employer understands this requirement and has a process in place, since delays at this stage can push back your start date by weeks.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage your paperwork
The LCA, DS-160, and consulate preparation involve overlapping deadlines that are easy to missequence. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the entire process end-to-end, reducing the risk of errors that trigger administrative processing at the Australian consulate.
Search for Clinical Therapist roles on Migrate Mate
General job boards surface roles without filtering for E-3 sponsorship readiness. Migrate Mate lists Clinical Therapist positions from employers already familiar with the E-3 process, so you spend less time screening and more time applying to viable opportunities.
Negotiate your offer letter to specify the specialty occupation
Your offer letter must describe duties that require a degree in a specific clinical field, not just a preference for one. Vague job descriptions can cause problems at the consulate, so work with your employer to ensure the letter reflects a genuine specialty occupation.

Find Clinical Therapist JobsClinical Therapist E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Clinical Therapist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Clinical Therapist roles from employers already set up to sponsor the E-3 visa. Most general job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship readiness, which means you waste time on applications that stall when employers realize they've never filed an LCA. Migrate Mate surfaces roles where sponsorship is already on the table.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Clinical Therapist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific clinical field such as counseling, psychology, social work, or marriage and family therapy. Roles requiring only a general degree or where the degree field is unspecified may not satisfy the specialty occupation standard. Your offer letter's duty description is what USCIS and the consulate evaluate.
How does the E-3 compare to H-1B for Clinical Therapist roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian nationals but has no lottery and no annual cap, meaning you can apply at any point in the year with a qualifying job offer. The H-1B is subject to an oversubscribed lottery that selects fewer than one in three registrants. For Australian therapists, the E-3 removes the timing and probability risk entirely.
Do I need a U.S. license to get an E-3 visa as a Clinical Therapist?
Not at the time of the visa application. The E-3 requires a specialty occupation job offer and evidence of qualifying credentials, not a state license. That said, many employers will require licensure eligibility before your start date, and some states offer supervised or provisional practice licenses that let you work while completing local requirements after you arrive.
