Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Clinical Consultant
Align your credentials to U.S. specialty occupation standards
Your Australian bachelor's degree must map directly to the Clinical Consultant role on offer. A three-year health sciences or nursing degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree, but gather official transcripts and a credential evaluation before you apply.
Target employers with active DOL LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to find healthcare organisations and consulting firms that have previously certified LCAs for similar roles. Employers already familiar with the LCA process move faster once you receive an offer.
Clarify the specialty occupation link during interviews
Some Clinical Consultant job descriptions use language like 'degree preferred' rather than 'degree required,' which can disqualify the role under E-3 visa specialty occupation rules. Ask the hiring team to confirm the position requires a specific degree field before you go further.
Confirm employer readiness before accepting an offer
The employer files the LCA with DOL and must attest to prevailing wage compliance before your visa application can proceed. Ask HR whether they've sponsored E-3 or H-1B visas before so you can gauge how much education they'll need on the process.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the LCA, DS-160, and consulate preparation end-to-end. This matters for Clinical Consultant roles where the employer is a mid-size healthcare firm without an in-house immigration team.
Schedule your consulate appointment around clinical notice periods
E-3 visas are issued at Australian consulates, and appointment wait times vary by location and season. Factor your Australian employment notice period into the timeline so your U.S. start date is realistic and you're not caught between two commitments.
E-3 Visa Clinical Consultant: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Clinical Consultant jobs in the U.S. that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can filter by job title and see which employers are open to sponsoring the E-3 visa, saving you from applying to roles where sponsorship isn't on the table. It's the most direct way to find Clinical Consultant positions that are genuinely compatible with your visa situation.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Clinical Consultant role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as health sciences, nursing, allied health, or a related discipline. The key test is whether the degree requirement is a real condition of the job, not just a preference. If the job description says 'preferred' rather than 'required,' the employer may need to adjust the role definition before the LCA can be certified with DOL.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Clinical Consultant roles?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so a qualified Australian Clinical Consultant with a job offer can apply any time of year and expect a decision within weeks. The H-1B requires entering a randomised lottery held once a year with no guarantee of selection. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is the far more predictable and time-efficient path to U.S. employment in a clinical consulting capacity.
Can I change employers or move to a different Clinical Consultant role while on an E-3?
Yes, but you can't simply transfer the visa. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need to either apply for a new E-3 visa at an Australian consulate or, in some cases, change status within the U.S. The process restarts with each new employer, so factor in a realistic timeline of several weeks from offer acceptance to authorised start date.
