Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Neuropsychologist
Verify your credentials meet U.S. licensing standards
U.S. neuropsychologist roles typically require licensure at the doctoral level. Before applying, confirm your Australian qualifications map to a doctorate-equivalent under USCIS specialty occupation criteria, since a master's alone may draw scrutiny during LCA review.
Target hospitals and academic medical centers
Academic medical centers, VA hospitals, and rehabilitation networks file E-3 LCAs far more regularly than private practices. Filtering your search by employer type surfaces roles where the sponsorship infrastructure already exists and hiring managers understand the process.
Get your psychology board credentials translated early
AHPRA registration and any Australian Psychology Society fellowship need to be translated into U.S.-equivalent terms before your first interview. Delays in credential evaluation are one of the most common reasons E-3 timelines slip after an offer is made.
Clarify the DOL prevailing wage tier with your employer
Neuropsychology roles span multiple DOL wage levels depending on seniority and supervision responsibilities. Confirming the correct Level II or Level III classification before LCA filing prevents wage compliance issues that could stall or invalidate your sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the full process
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA submission, visa paperwork, and consulate preparation. This removes the administrative burden from your employer and reduces the risk of errors that extend your start date.
Time your consulate appointment around role start date
E-3 visas are issued at Australian consulates with processing windows that vary by location and season. Align your appointment booking with your negotiated start date so your employer isn't left managing a gap while you wait on a visa stamp.

Find Neuropsychologist JobsNeuropsychologist E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Neuropsychologist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search Migrate Mate to filter neuropsychologist roles by employers with active E-3 sponsorship history. Most sponsored positions are at academic medical centers, large hospital networks, and federally funded research institutions. Targeting these employer types directly narrows your search to organizations equipped to handle the LCA filing process without extensive education on their end.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Neuropsychologist role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes. Neuropsychology requires at minimum a doctoral degree in psychology or neuropsychology, which satisfies the USCIS specialty occupation standard requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. The role's direct relationship between the degree field and the job duties is well-established, making it one of the cleaner cases for E-3 qualification compared to broader psychology roles.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Neuropsychologist roles?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian nationals and has a 10,500-slot annual allocation that has never been fully used, meaning there is no lottery and no wait. H-1B registrations for the same roles enter a random selection process with no guaranteed outcome. For Australian neuropsychologists, the E-3 provides a direct, predictable path that the H-1B cannot match.
Can I transfer my E-3 visa if I change neuropsychology employers in the U.S.?
You can change employers on E-3 status, but the process starts fresh with the new employer. They must file a new LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new visa stamp from an Australian consulate reflecting the updated employment. There is no H-1B-style portability after 180 days, so plan your transition timeline around the consulate appointment window.
