Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a CT Technologist
Verify your ARRT eligibility before applying
U.S. hospitals require ARRT CT certification or eligibility for most positions. Confirm your Australian qualifications map to ARRT standards through CAMRT pathway equivalency before submitting applications, so sponsoring employers don't withdraw offers over credential gaps.
Target imaging centers over staffing agencies
Direct-hire hospital systems and outpatient imaging networks file LCAs in their own name, which strengthens your E-3 application. Staffing agencies introduce third-party worksite complexity that can complicate specialty occupation documentation and delay DOL certification.
Request the LCA before signing your offer letter
The DOL Labor Condition Application must be certified before your consulate interview. Ask your prospective employer to initiate LCA filing immediately upon verbal acceptance, not after you sign, to avoid appointment scheduling delays.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your paperwork
Once you have a job offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This reduces back-and-forth with HR teams unfamiliar with E-3 requirements and gets your consulate appointment scheduled faster.
Clarify shift structure in your specialty occupation letter
CT Technologist roles with rotating or on-call schedules can raise questions about full-time specialty occupation status. Your employer's support letter should explicitly describe how CT duties constitute the primary function of the role, not a secondary responsibility.
Disclose any prior Australian registration issues upfront
AHPRA registration history, including any conditions or lapses, is relevant to your DS-160 and consular interview. Disclosing proactively with a clear explanation avoids 221(g) administrative processing holds that can stall your E-3 approval by weeks.

Find CT Technologist JobsCT Technologist E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find CT Technologist jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists CT Technologist positions from U.S. employers with active E-3 sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying to radiology departments unfamiliar with Australian visa requirements. Filter by role and location to identify imaging centers and hospital systems that have sponsored Australian professionals before, which significantly shortens the offer-to-filing timeline.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a CT Technologist role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes. CT Technologist positions qualify as specialty occupations under E-3 criteria because they require specialized knowledge of imaging protocols, radiation safety, and anatomy, typically supported by a bachelor's degree or ARRT-recognized equivalent. Australian AHPRA-registered radiographers with CT experience meet this threshold, though your employer's support letter must clearly document why a degree-level qualification is required for the specific role.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for CT Technologist roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no numerical cap that affects most healthcare workers, unlike the H-1B, which subjects cap-subject petitioners to a randomized selection process. For CT Technologists, this means your employer can file at any point in the year and receive a decision without waiting for an October 1 start date. The E-3 also renews in two-year increments indefinitely, providing stable long-term status.
Can my Australian partner work in the U.S. while I'm on an E-3?
Your spouse or de facto partner can accompany you on an E-3D dependent visa. Since late 2023, E-3D spouses have been eligible for an EAD, or Employment Authorization Document, allowing them to work for any U.S. employer without being tied to your sponsoring hospital or imaging center. This applies regardless of whether your partner has a qualifying degree.
