E-3 Visa Clinical Pathologist Jobs
Clinical Pathologist roles qualify as E-3 specialty occupations, requiring a medical degree and relevant pathology training. Australian-trained pathologists can secure E-3 visa sponsorship without entering a lottery, with no annual cap restricting when you apply. Most U.S. hospital systems and reference laboratories are familiar with the process.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Clinical Pathologist
Get your RCPA fellowship verified early
U.S. employers and consular officers assess Australian credentials against USMLE and ABPath standards. A formal credential evaluation confirming your RCPA fellowship equivalent to U.S. board certification strengthens your specialty occupation case and prevents delays at the LCA stage.
Target academic medical centers and large reference labs
Hospital systems affiliated with medical schools and national reference laboratories such as those running high-volume anatomical or clinical pathology departments file LCAs regularly and have established E-3 sponsorship workflows, reducing the administrative back-and-forth with HR.
Search for verified E-3 sponsors on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find Clinical Pathologist roles from employers with active E-3 or H-1B filing history. Filtering by sponsorship track record cuts the time you spend approaching labs that have no process in place.
Clarify your subspecialty before the LCA is filed
The LCA job title must match the actual duties. If your role spans anatomical and clinical pathology, or includes a neuropathology or hematopathology subspecialty, confirm the DOL job classification with your employer before filing to avoid a mismatch that triggers a consular query.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your paperwork
The LCA, DS-160, and consulate preparation involve interdependent deadlines that are easy to misalign. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from offer to consulate appointment, so nothing falls through between employer sign-off and your visa interview.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions specific to medical roles
Consular officers sometimes probe whether a physician intends to immigrate permanently. Having a clear explanation of your temporary employment terms, your employer's renewal history, and your ties to Australia addresses this before the officer raises it.

Find Clinical Pathologist JobsClinical Pathologist E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Clinical Pathologist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Clinical Pathologist roles from employers with E-3 or H-1B sponsorship history. Most pathology positions are based in hospital systems, academic medical centers, or reference laboratories that already have immigration counsel on retainer, making them more straightforward to approach than smaller private practices.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Clinical Pathologist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Clinical Pathologist positions require a medical degree as a minimum and typically a completed pathology residency or fellowship, which satisfies the E-3 specialty occupation standard. The DOL's prevailing wage determination for the role will reference the relevant SOC code, and your RCPA fellowship or equivalent postgraduate training supports the degree-in-specific-field requirement at the consulate.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Clinical Pathologist roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no numerical cap, so you can apply at any time of year once you have an offer and a certified LCA. The H-1B is subject to an annual cap and a randomized lottery that most physicians enter in April for an October start. For Australian pathologists, the E-3 is considerably more predictable and faster to execute.
Can an Australian pathologist on an E-3 work across multiple hospital sites?
Each primary worksite requires its own LCA, which must be filed and certified by the DOL before you begin work at that location. If your role involves rotating between facilities under one employer, the LCA should list all fixed worksites. Adding a new site after your visa is issued requires a new LCA and, in some cases, an amended visa.
