Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Certified Veterinary Technician
Verify your AVMA-accredited degree equivalency
U.S. employers need your Australian veterinary technology qualification assessed as equivalent to a four-year AVMA-accredited degree. Request a credential evaluation from a NACES-member agency before applying so you can provide documentation upfront.
Target specialty and emergency clinics first
Emergency, specialty, and large referral hospitals hire CVTs more consistently than general practices and are more familiar with E-3 sponsorship requirements. Internist, oncology, and critical care departments often have dedicated HR teams who handle visa paperwork regularly.
Confirm your role meets specialty occupation criteria
The E-3 requires that the position normally demands a bachelor's degree in a specific field. A job listing that says 'degree preferred' rather than 'required' can disqualify the role, so ask hiring managers to confirm the degree requirement before the LCA is filed.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your LCA and paperwork
Your employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL before your consulate appointment. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so nothing stalls between the offer and your interview date.
Plan your consulate appointment around your start date
The E-3 stamp is obtained at an Australian consulate, not through USCIS, so your start date depends on interview availability. Book your appointment as soon as the LCA is certified to avoid delays that push your arrival past the employer's onboarding window.

Find Certified Veterinary Technician JobsCertified Veterinary Technician E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Certified Veterinary Technician jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search Migrate Mate to find U.S. employers who have a history of sponsoring Australian professionals on E-3 visas. Filtering by role and sponsorship willingness saves time compared to cold-applying to clinics that have never navigated E-3 requirements. Specialty and emergency hospitals are your strongest starting point.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Certified Veterinary Technician role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the employer's job description requires a bachelor's degree in veterinary technology or a closely related science field as a minimum qualification. The degree must be a stated requirement, not a preference. Roles at general practices that accept any science background or work experience in lieu of a degree may not qualify.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for CVTs seeking U.S. employment?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply any time of year and start within weeks of receiving a job offer. The H-1B runs a random lottery with an annual registration window, meaning most applicants wait 12 months or more before starting. For Australian CVTs, the E-3 is the faster and more predictable path.
Can I transfer my E-3 visa if I change veterinary employers in the U.S.?
The E-3 is employer-specific, so changing jobs requires your new employer to file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new visa stamp before or shortly after starting. There's no formal E-3 portability rule like H-1B, so plan the transition carefully to avoid a gap in authorized employment status.
