Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in Pediatric Neurosurgeon
Verify your credentials meet ECFMG requirements
U.S. hospitals require ECFMG certification before sponsoring any international medical graduate. Start this process early, credential verification through ECFMG typically takes several months and must be complete before an employer can file your LCA.
Target children's hospitals with neurosurgery fellowships
Academic children's hospitals and Level I pediatric trauma centers have established immigration pipelines and in-house legal teams. They sponsor E-3 visas regularly for subspecialists and are better equipped to move quickly once you have an offer.
Search E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters U.S. Pediatric Neurosurgeon openings by E-3 visa sponsorship so you're not cold-applying to employers unfamiliar with the process. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once an offer is confirmed.
Clarify Australian fellowship equivalency with your employer
FRACS (Neurosurgery) is not automatically recognised as equivalent to U.S. board certification. Raise this in early conversations so the employer's legal team can document your qualifications correctly on the LCA before DOL review begins.
Ask about state medical licensing before accepting an offer
Your E-3 visa approval doesn't depend on holding a state medical licence, but your start date does. Confirm with the hiring department whether the hospital will sponsor your licence application concurrently with the visa process to avoid gaps.
Understand the LCA prevailing wage tier for your subspecialty
DOL assigns prevailing wages by job zone and location. Pediatric Neurosurgery typically maps to a Level II or III wage determination. Confirm the offered salary meets the certified wage before signing your offer letter, since USCIS will verify this at adjudication.
E-3 Visa Pediatric Neurosurgeon: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Pediatric Neurosurgeon jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search, it lists U.S. Pediatric Neurosurgeon roles filtered specifically for E-3 visa sponsorship, so you only see employers already open to the process. Children's hospitals and academic medical centers are the most common sponsors for this subspecialty, and Migrate Mate surfaces those opportunities without requiring you to cold-contact HR departments.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Pediatric Neurosurgeon role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3?
Yes. Pediatric Neurosurgery requires a medical degree, completed residency, and subspecialty fellowship training, which far exceeds the E-3 specialty occupation threshold of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a specific field. USCIS and DOL consistently classify physician subspecialty roles in this category, and the LCA filing for neurosurgeons is rarely challenged on specialty occupation grounds.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Australian neurosurgeons?
The E-3 has a significant practical advantage: there's no lottery. H-1B visa selection is randomised each April, meaning you could wait one or more years before getting a slot. The E-3 has an annual allocation of 10,500 visas that has never been exhausted, so you can apply any time of year once you have a job offer and a certified LCA from the employer.
Can I switch hospitals after arriving in the U.S. on an E-3?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if you travel internationally before the change is finalised. Changing hospitals while remaining in status is possible if the new LCA is certified and the roles are substantially similar, but the timing between offer acceptance and your current position's end date needs careful management.
