ABOUT McKESSON MEDICAL-SURGICAL
McKesson Medical-Surgical (MMS) is a subsidiary and publicly reported segment of the McKesson Corporation. MMS distributes medical-surgical supplies, pharmaceuticals, diagnostic equipment and supplies, along with other solutions and services to virtually every type of healthcare setting and provider outside of the traditional hospital. These markets – often referred to as Alternate Care or Non-Acute Care – include physician offices, surgery centers, long-term care providers, laboratories, home health and hospice agencies, health systems, government facilities and online marketplaces and retailers.
Alternate Care markets are growing rapidly and MMS is proud to be a leader in this space. With a team of approximately 8,000 employees, a network of 15 distribution centers and approximately 900 delivery vehicles, we partner with more than 2,200 leading manufacturers and serve over 200,000 customer accounts across the U.S. Our catalog includes more than 280,000 SKUs of branded and private-label medical-surgical products – from bandages to specialty pharmaceuticals and COVID-19 tests.
LOOKING AHEAD: A NEW CHAPTER FOR MMS
McKesson has announced its intent to separate MMS into an independent company by taking it public through an initial public offering (IPO). The separation could be completed by the second half of calendar year 2027, pending market factors and regulatory approvals. This is an exciting evolution that builds on MMS’s strong foundation and proven leadership in the Alternate Care space. As a standalone company, MMS would be positioned to unlock new opportunities to innovate, grow and lead with even greater agility and focus. We will also continue to be one of the largest medical-surgical distributors in the U.S., with over $11B in annual sales. This separation would accelerate our mission and empower us to shape a future defined by customer-centricity, bold thinking and operational excellence. For job seekers, it’s a unique moment to join a team that’s already making a meaningful impact and leading the way in shaping the future of healthcare delivery in Alternate Care settings – with even greater opportunity ahead as we prepare to become an independent company.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Corporate Paralegal
Frame your Australian credentials correctly
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree in legal studies or paralegal studies satisfies the E-3 visa specialty occupation requirement. Confirm your transcript shows a field-specific degree, not a general arts degree with legal electives, before applying.
Target law firms with established LCA filings
U.S. law firms that have sponsored foreign workers before have HR teams familiar with the LCA process. Search DOL disclosure data to identify firms that have filed LCAs for paralegal roles in your target city.
Address specialty occupation in your cover letter
USCIS scrutinizes whether corporate paralegal roles require a specific degree, not just any bachelor's. Your cover letter should explain how your legal studies degree directly supports the role's responsibilities, not just that you hold a degree.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service end-to-end
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork from start to consulate appointment. Paralegal roles sometimes draw specialty occupation questions, and having a dedicated expert manage the filing reduces that risk.
Clarify E-3 timelines before your offer deadline
The DOL typically certifies an LCA within seven business days, and consulate appointments at Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth can often be scheduled within weeks. Knowing this timeline lets you negotiate a realistic start date with the employer.
Confirm the employer understands E-3 responsibilities
Some U.S. firms assume all foreign national hiring involves the H-1B lottery and decline before exploring alternatives. Explain that the E-3 requires only an LCA filing and a consulate appointment, with no lottery and no multi-month USCIS wait.
E-3 Visa Corporate Paralegal: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find corporate paralegal jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for E-3 sponsorship roles. You can filter by job title and location to find corporate paralegal positions at employers with a history of sponsoring foreign nationals. Many firms that sponsor H-1B workers will also sponsor E-3 applicants, since the process is significantly simpler for them.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a corporate paralegal role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the employer's job description requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as legal studies or paralegal studies. Roles where any bachelor's degree satisfies the requirement regardless of field can face scrutiny. The stronger your degree-to-role alignment, the cleaner the specialty occupation case.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for corporate paralegal roles?
The E-3 has no lottery, no annual cap, and no multi-month USCIS processing wait for most applicants. The H-1B requires entering a randomized lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection chance. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is far more predictable and can often result in a visa stamp within four to six weeks of receiving a job offer.
What happens to my E-3 status if I change employers mid-sponsorship?
Your E-3 is tied to a specific employer, so changing jobs requires your new employer to file a fresh LCA with DOL and you to attend a new consulate appointment. There's no portability provision as with some other visa categories. Plan any employer transition carefully to avoid gaps in authorized work status.
