Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Data Analytics Engineer
Frame your degree for specialty occupation
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees in statistics, computer science, or mathematics are accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees. Make sure your credential evaluation letter explicitly names the field, not just the level, before you apply.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's OFLC disclosure data for employers who have filed LCAs under SOC code 15-2051 or 15-1243. Companies with recent filings already understand the E-3 process and won't need educating at the offer stage.
Use Migrate Mate to find E-3 sponsoring employers
Migrate Mate filters Data Analytics Engineer roles by E-3 visa sponsorship so you're not guessing which employers will support the process. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once you have an offer.
Address the specialty occupation test early
Consular officers assess whether a Data Analytics Engineer role genuinely requires a specific degree, not just any bachelor's. Ask your employer to write a job description that ties the role's core duties, such as building data pipelines or statistical modeling, to your exact field of study.
Negotiate LCA filing into your offer timeline
The LCA must be certified by DOL before your consulate appointment can proceed. Build at least two weeks of LCA processing time into your start date discussion so a slow certification doesn't push back your first day.
Prepare for prevailing wage scrutiny at mid-size firms
DOL prevailing wage levels for data analytics roles vary significantly by metro area. Smaller employers sometimes offer below Level II wages without realizing the LCA will be rejected. Confirm the offered salary meets the DOL wage level for your work location before signing.

Find Data Analytics Engineer JobsData Analytics Engineer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Data Analytics Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces Data Analytics Engineer roles where employers are open to E-3 visa sponsorship, so you're not sorting through listings that will reject you at the offer stage. General job boards don't filter by visa type, which wastes time when you need an employer who already understands the E-3 process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Data Analytics Engineer role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as statistics, computer science, mathematics, or information systems. The role must be one where the degree is a genuine requirement, not just a preference. Generic analyst roles where any degree is accepted can fail the specialty occupation test, so the job description your employer writes matters.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Data Analytics Engineers?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply at any point in the year and get a decision within weeks of your consulate appointment. The H-1B requires lottery registration in March, with a roughly one-in-four selection rate. For Australian nationals in data roles, the E-3 is almost always the faster and more reliable path to U.S. authorization.
Can I switch Data Analytics Engineer employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but you need a new LCA and a new visa stamp or a change of status filing for each employer. The E-3 is employer-specific, so your current authorization doesn't transfer. If you're changing jobs, your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL before you start. There's no portability rule like the H-1B's 60-day job change provision.
