Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Cloud Data Engineer
Align your degree to the role description
DOL requires your LCA job duties to match a specialty occupation. If your degree is in a adjacent field like mathematics or electrical engineering, document coursework in data systems, distributed computing, or cloud architecture to strengthen the specialty occupation argument.
Target employers with active cloud infrastructure teams
Focus on companies running multi-cloud or hybrid environments at scale. Teams already managing Databricks, Snowflake, or AWS Glue pipelines are hiring for defined technical roles, which makes the specialty occupation case cleaner and speeds up internal sponsorship approval.
Get your LCA certified before your consulate appointment
The LCA must be DOL-certified before you can schedule your visa interview. Employers sometimes underestimate this lead time. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so the sequencing stays on track.
Search for E-3 sponsorship on Migrate Mate
Generic job boards don't filter by E-3 visa sponsorship history. Migrate Mate lets you search Cloud Data Engineer roles specifically matched to employers who sponsor E-3 visas, saving you from chasing roles at companies that won't move forward.
Verify your employer's E-Verify enrollment before accepting
E-3 employers aren't federally required to use E-Verify unless they're a federal contractor, but USCIS will ask about employment authorization. Confirming enrollment before your start date avoids onboarding delays if your employer's HR team is unfamiliar with the E-3 process.
E-3 Visa Cloud Data Engineer: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Cloud Data Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter Cloud Data Engineer roles by E-3 visa sponsorship, which standard job boards don't support. This removes the guesswork of contacting employers who don't sponsor, so you spend time on roles where sponsorship is already confirmed.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Cloud Data Engineer role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, in most cases. Cloud Data Engineer roles that require designing data pipelines, managing distributed systems, or architecting cloud-native solutions typically satisfy the specialty occupation standard because they require at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field. Roles where any general degree qualifies can be harder to support, so the job description and your degree field both matter.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Cloud Data Engineer roles?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply at any point in the year once you have a job offer and a certified LCA. The H-1B has an 85,000-slot annual cap with a randomised lottery, meaning most applicants wait years for selection. For Australian Cloud Data Engineers, the E-3 is the direct path that bypasses that uncertainty entirely.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Cloud Data Engineer?
Yes, but each employer change requires a fresh LCA and a new visa stamp if you travel outside the U.S. Your new employer files a new LCA with DOL before you start, and you'll need to present the certified LCA along with your new employment letter. There's no formal transfer process like the H-1B portability rule, so timing your transition carefully matters.
