About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
As Policy Analyst, LATAM you will ensure effective execution of complex cross-functional plans that advance key company priorities across Latin America, help the company assess and engage in emerging policy opportunities, and address challenges throughout the region. A key priority will be to engage external stakeholders across LATAM to drive progress in AI policy and AI safety. You will also collaborate with Policy and cross-functional colleagues on a variety of other projects, including strategically expanding our product and policy influence into new LATAM markets, developing new policy proposals, and drafting submissions to requests for comment.
In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the development of strategies to support Anthropic's LATAM policy objectives, including implementation plans and metrics
- Support projects to ensure smooth entry to new LATAM markets from a regulatory perspective
- Propose and develop new programming and generate opportunities for Anthropic to build relationships with policymakers, think tanks, and non-profit organizations across Latin America, with particular focus on Brazil and other key regional markets
- Create initial policy stakeholder maps and devise strategic engagement plans tailored to LATAM political and regulatory contexts
- Collaborate with policy and technical teams to translate Anthropic research into concrete policy proposals, stakeholder education, and thought leadership opportunities relevant to LATAM audiences
- Draft and amplify public submissions, responses to requests for information (RFI), and policy memos written by Anthropic to drive positive change in AI policy across the region
You may be a good fit if you:
- Are fluent in Portuguese and English (Spanish fluency is also strongly preferred) with the ability to engage policymakers, draft materials, and navigate stakeholder conversations in Portuguese
- Have a track record of supporting tech and AI policy advocacy in LATAM, with deep familiarity with Brazil's regulatory landscape and broader regional policy dynamics
- Are a skilled researcher, analyst, and writer
- Thrive when engaging with governments, policymakers, and civil society to translate complex technical topics into accessible information
- Know what resources and narratives will be useful for LATAM policymakers to understand and act on a particular issue area
- Have demonstrated success in identifying and convening stakeholders at a regional level across Latin America
- Have experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional and global team
- Are motivated to better equip LATAM governments to understand the pace of progress in the AI field and develop effective policies
- Have a deep curiosity for frontier technological research and are eager to work closely with technical colleagues
Strong candidates may also:
- Have extensive experience engaging government regulatory authorities in Brazil, Mexico, and other major LATAM markets from a private sector perspective
- Have demonstrated an ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical areas and policy dynamics
- Have a background in entrepreneurship; this role will suit people who are excellent at networking from a 'cold start' and who figure out unconventional and effective ways to garner policymaker attention
- Have existing relationships with LATAM think tanks, civil society organizations, or multilateral institutions working on technology policy
This role is based in our San Francisco headquarters. We expect this job will require regular travel to Latin America.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Policy Analyst
Frame your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree in public policy or economics satisfies E-3 specialty occupation requirements. Get your academic transcripts evaluated by a USCIS-recognized credentials assessor so your employer can reference it directly in the LCA.
Target federal contractors over direct government roles
Most U.S. federal agencies can't directly sponsor E-3 visas, but the contractors and consulting firms that staff policy work can. Focus your search on firms holding government contracts in defense, health, or infrastructure policy.
Search verified E-3 sponsors using Migrate Mate
Finding Policy Analyst roles with confirmed E-3 sponsorship history is faster when you use Migrate Mate, which filters opportunities by visa type and employer filing history so you're not guessing who will sponsor.
Clarify the LCA wage level before accepting an offer
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL certifying your wage meets the prevailing rate for the role and location. Ask which wage level they're filing at, Level I covers entry, Level III covers senior analysts, before you sign.
Get your offer letter to specify specialty occupation
Consular officers scrutinize whether Policy Analyst roles meet the E-3 specialty occupation standard. Your offer letter should state the degree field required for the position, not just list job duties. Vague descriptions are a common reason for additional questioning.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end processing
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork from DOL certification through consulate appointment preparation, reducing errors that delay approval.

Find Policy Analyst JobsPolicy Analyst E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Policy Analyst jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Policy Analyst roles with confirmed E-3 sponsorship. Most general job boards don't filter by visa type, so you end up cold-applying without knowing whether an employer will sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces opportunities from employers with active E-3 and LCA filing history, so your search is targeted from the start.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Policy Analyst role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, if the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as public policy, political science, economics, or international relations. The role must genuinely require that degree, not just prefer it. Positions at think tanks, federal contractors, and policy consulting firms typically meet this standard. Roles with vague or generalist degree requirements can face consular scrutiny.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Policy Analyst roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has no annual cap and no lottery, which means you can apply at any point in the year and receive a decision at your consulate interview. The H-1B is subject to an annual lottery with a 20 to 25 percent selection rate for most applicants. For Australians in policy roles, the E-3 is a significantly more reliable path to U.S. employment.
Can I switch Policy Analyst employers on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp before re-entering the U.S. or, if you're already in the country, you can request a change of status. There's no portability rule like the H-1B's AC21 provision, so the new LCA must be certified before you start work with the new employer.
