E-3 Visa Data Science Engineer Jobs
Data Science Engineer roles in machine learning, pipeline architecture, and predictive modeling qualify as E-3 specialty occupations when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. Australian nationals can secure sponsorship without competing in a lottery, making the E-3 one of the most direct paths into U.S. data science teams.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Data Science Engineer
Translate your Australian degree for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's in computer science or statistics is accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree under E-3 rules. Prepare a one-page credential summary that maps your qualification to the specialty occupation requirement your target role lists.
Filter job listings by LCA filing history
Search DOL disclosure data to confirm a company has filed Labor Condition Applications for data science titles before applying. Employers with recent LCA filings already understand the E-3 process, which shortens your time from offer to visa appointment significantly.
Request an LCA for your specific job duties
The LCA your employer files with DOL must reflect your actual job title and responsibilities, not a generic data engineer template. Mismatched duty descriptions are a common cause of consular questions, so review the LCA before your employer certifies it.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end processing
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork from certification through consulate preparation. This removes the coordination burden from your employer and reduces the risk of documentation errors that delay your start date.
Prepare for specialty occupation questions at the consulate
Consular officers sometimes scrutinize data science roles where job ads list a degree as preferred rather than required. Bring a copy of the job description, your degree transcript, and a brief written explanation of how your qualifications directly support the role's technical requirements.

Find Data Science Engineer JobsData Science Engineer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Data Science Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces Data Science Engineer roles at U.S. employers who have demonstrated E-3 or LCA filing activity, so you're not cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with Australian visa sponsorship. Filter by role, location, and industry to narrow your shortlist before reaching out.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Data Science Engineer role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as computer science, statistics, or data engineering. Roles that list a degree as preferred rather than required can create complications at the consulate. Review the job description carefully and confirm the requirement is stated as mandatory before your employer files the LCA.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Data Science Engineer roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery, so you can apply any time of year and start as soon as your visa is issued. The H-1B cap is 85,000 registrations per year with a competitive lottery, meaning selection is not guaranteed. For Australian nationals in data science, the E-3 is a faster and more predictable path to U.S. employment, with the same two-year renewable status.
Can I change employers or projects after starting on an E-3?
You can change employers, but your new company must file a new LCA and you'll need to attend a fresh consular appointment or apply for a change of status before starting work with them. Your E-3 is tied to the specific employer named on the LCA, not to a job category, so any employer change restarts the documentation process from the LCA stage.
