Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Communications Lead
Frame your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree in communications or PR meets the E-3 specialty occupation requirement. Include your degree on your resume with the full institution name and field so hiring managers don't flag it as a gap.
Target companies with active LCA filing history
Employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications before already understand the DOL certification step. Searching DOL's OFLC disclosure data for communications or PR job titles filters your list to organizations that won't be surprised by the process.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and consulate prep
The LCA must be certified by DOL before you can book your consulate appointment. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the LCA submission, visa paperwork, and consulate preparation so you don't stall between offer acceptance and your start date.
Request a start date that allows consulate processing time
Once the LCA is certified, you still need to schedule and attend a consulate interview in Australia. Build at least four to six weeks between your offer acceptance and your proposed first day to avoid renegotiating your start date after signing.
Prepare a specialty occupation letter for your specific role
Communications Lead titles vary widely. If your role blends strategy, content, and people management, get written confirmation from your employer that the position requires a degree in a specific field. This protects you if the consular officer questions whether the role qualifies.

Find Communications Lead JobsCommunications Lead E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Communications Lead jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Communications Lead roles where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor the E-3 visa. Because the E-3 requires employer-initiated LCA filing with DOL rather than a lottery entry, filtering for E-3-aware employers upfront saves significant time compared to applying broadly and screening for visa support during interviews.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Communications Lead role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing. If the job description accepts any degree or lists education as preferred rather than required, it may not meet the specialty occupation standard. Ask the employer to confirm the degree requirement is mandatory before proceeding.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Communications Lead positions?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply at any time of year once you have a job offer. H-1B registrations for Communications Lead roles are subject to the 85,000-cap lottery with selection rates around 25 percent. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is a far more reliable path to a U.S. communications role than competing in the H-1B lottery.
Can I switch Communications Lead employers while on an E-3?
You can change employers, but each new position requires a fresh LCA and a new visa stamp if you travel outside the U.S. after starting with the new employer. There is no portability provision equivalent to H-1B's AC21. If you're mid-job-search and already in the U.S. on an E-3, factor in the LCA lead time before accepting a new offer.
