Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Performance Engineer
Align your credentials to U.S. specialty occupation standards
Your Australian three-year bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 visa purposes. Gather official transcripts and a credential evaluation before you apply, so employers can confirm specialty occupation eligibility without delays.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for employers who have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for performance engineering or software engineering roles. Prior LCA activity signals familiarity with the E-3 process and reduces friction when you raise sponsorship.
Reframe E-3 sponsorship early in employer conversations
Many U.S. hiring managers conflate all work visas with H-1B lottery risk. Explain that the E-3 has no annual cap, no lottery, and requires only a certified LCA from DOL before your consulate appointment, making sponsorship straightforward for the employer.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to streamline your offer
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This keeps the employer's HR team out of the weeds and reduces the risk of paperwork errors delaying your start date.
Find Performance Engineer roles with E-3 sponsorship on Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to identify Performance Engineer openings from employers already set up for E-3 sponsorship. Filtering for roles by visa type saves you from pitching the process from scratch to every recruiter you speak with.
Prepare for consulate-specific documentation requirements
Your Australian consulate interview requires a certified LCA, a support letter from your employer, and evidence of your degree's specialty occupation nexus. Assembling these documents before scheduling your appointment avoids last-minute scrambles that push back your start date.
E-3 Visa Performance Engineer: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Performance Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended way to search for Performance Engineer roles where employers are already set up for E-3 sponsorship. Filtering by visa type means you're connecting with companies that understand the LCA process, so you're not spending time educating recruiters about a visa pathway they've never encountered.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Performance Engineer role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, Performance Engineer roles typically qualify because they require at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline. The DOL evaluates each LCA on the specific duties of the role, so your offer letter should clearly describe responsibilities that require that degree-level specialization to avoid any certification complications.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Performance Engineers?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual numerical cap, so you don't wait for a random selection event to start working. H-1B selection runs once a year in April with roughly a one-in-four chance of being picked. E-3 applications can be filed at any time, and your employer only needs a DOL-certified LCA rather than a full USCIS petition before your consulate appointment.
Can I change employers after starting on an E-3 as a Performance Engineer?
You can change employers, but each new position requires a fresh LCA and a new E-3 visa tied to that specific employer. You can't transfer your existing visa to a new company the way some other statuses allow. Timing matters: if you're already in the U.S., coordinate your start date carefully to avoid any gap in authorized status while the new LCA is being certified.
