E-3 Visa Devops Manager Jobs
DevOps Manager roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so Australian professionals can move from offer to U.S. start date faster than any H-1B visa pathway.

Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 visa purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-member service before your first interview so employers don't stall on the question.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's OFLC disclosure data for companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering roles. Prior LCA activity signals the employer already understands the sponsorship process and won't treat it as a blocker.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Migrate Mate filters DevOps Manager roles by E-3 sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying to companies that have never sponsored an Australian. Start your search there before spending time on applications that go nowhere.
Frame your offer letter around specialty occupation language
Your job offer must describe the role in terms a consular officer can map to a specialty occupation. Ask your employer to specify the degree field required, not just the job title. Vague descriptions like 'relevant experience preferred' can create problems at the consulate.
File the LCA before accepting a start date
The employer must file the LCA with DOL and receive certification before your consulate appointment can be scheduled. Standard DOL certification takes around seven business days, but build in extra time and confirm your employer has submitted before you set a start date.
Streamline filing with a dedicated service
DevOps Manager roles often involve complex job descriptions covering multiple technical disciplines, which can complicate LCA language. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so the documentation accurately reflects the scope of the role.
E-3 Visa Devops Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find DevOps Manager jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point. It surfaces DevOps Manager roles from employers with E-3 and LCA filing history, so you can focus on companies already set up to sponsor Australian nationals. Most general job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship type, which means you waste time on roles that won't progress past the offer stage.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a DevOps Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as computer science, information systems, or software engineering. The key is that the degree must be a normal requirement for the role, not just preferred. Hybrid roles combining management and hands-on infrastructure or platform work typically qualify, but the job offer language must reflect the technical degree requirement clearly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for DevOps Manager roles?
For Australian nationals, the E-3 is significantly more practical. There's no lottery, no annual cap, and you can apply year-round. The H-1B has an 85,000-slot annual cap with a randomized lottery, meaning a qualified DevOps Manager has roughly a one-in-four chance of selection in any given year. The E-3 lets you move from job offer to consulate appointment on a predictable timeline without that uncertainty.
Can I change employers after arriving in the U.S. on an E-3?
Yes, but you need to restart the E-3 process with the new employer. That means a new LCA filed and certified by DOL, a new job offer, and in most cases a new visa stamp obtained at a consulate in Australia or a third country. You can't simply transfer the existing E-3 to a new employer the way some other visa categories allow portability.
