E-3 Visa Elementary School Teacher Jobs
Elementary School Teacher roles in the U.S. qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree in education or a related field. Australian teachers can secure two-year E-3 status, renewable indefinitely, without entering an H-1B lottery. State teaching licensure adds a credential step most other E-3 applicants don't face.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Elementary School Teacher
Verify your Australian degree equivalency early
U.S. school districts need confirmation your Australian teaching qualification meets their state's licensure requirements. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved organization before you start applying, so hiring managers don't stall your offer over documentation.
Obtain state teaching licensure before your visa interview
Most states won't let you work as an elementary teacher without a valid state license, and consular officers expect to see it. Apply for reciprocal or foreign-trained teacher licensure in your target state as soon as your credential evaluation is complete.
Target districts with established international teacher pipelines
Public and charter school districts that have previously hired international teachers on E-3 or H-1B visas are far more likely to understand the LCA filing process. Search DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway for past Labor Condition Applications filed under education job codes.
Clarify sponsorship willingness before accepting an offer
Many districts don't advertise E-3 sponsorship but will support it once they understand the employer cost is lower than H-1B and there's no lottery. Raise the E-3 specifically in your offer discussion and confirm the HR department is willing to file an LCA with DOL.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork
Once your district confirms sponsorship, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the LCA submission to DOL and prepares your full consulate application package, so filing errors don't delay your school-year start date.
Account for the school calendar in your visa timeline
Elementary teaching offers are typically finalized between March and June for an August start. File your LCA and schedule your consulate appointment immediately after receiving your offer letter, since USCIS and consulate appointment slots can take several weeks to secure.

Find Elementary School Teacher JobsElementary School Teacher E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find elementary school teacher jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search for elementary school teacher roles where employers have E-3 sponsorship history. Many school districts don't explicitly list visa sponsorship in job postings, so filtering by employers who have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for education roles saves significant research time and connects you with districts already familiar with the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an elementary school teacher role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, elementary school teacher positions typically qualify as E-3 specialty occupations because the role normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in education or a directly related field. You'll need both the degree and a valid state teaching license for the state where you'll be employed. Districts in states with acute teacher shortages are often more motivated to sponsor international candidates.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Australian teachers?
The E-3 is significantly more practical for Australian teachers than the H-1B. There's no lottery, so your employer can file at any time and you're guaranteed processing without a random selection. The annual cap of 10,500 E-3 visas has never been exhausted, meaning availability is not a constraint. H-1B registration only opens once a year, and selection is not guaranteed even for fully qualified applicants.
Can I change school districts while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but your new district must file a new Labor Condition Application with DOL and support a new E-3 visa application before you begin working for them. You can't simply transfer your existing E-3 status to a new employer. If your current visa is still valid, you can begin work for the new district once the new LCA is certified and you've obtained updated E-3 status, either through a new consulate appointment or a change of status filing.
