Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Engineering Project Manager
Translate your credentials before applying
Australian three-year engineering degrees satisfy the U.S. bachelor's degree requirement for E-3 specialty occupation, but your resume should explicitly state your qualification level and field. Recruiters screening for 'BS required' need to see the equivalency stated clearly, not assumed.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Engineering project managers are best placed at firms that have filed Labor Condition Applications before. DOL's OFLC disclosure data shows which companies have certified LCAs for project management roles, giving you a shortlist of sponsors who already understand the E-3 process.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find Engineering Project Manager jobs where employers have confirmed E-3 sponsorship. The platform filters roles by visa type, so you're not cold-pitching sponsorship to companies unfamiliar with the process.
Raise E-3 sponsorship after receiving a written offer
Introducing visa sponsorship before an employer has decided you're the right candidate often kills your chances. Once you have a written offer, frame the E-3 as low-risk: there's no lottery, no cap, and the LCA certifies within seven business days at DOL.
Verify your job description covers specialty occupation criteria
USCIS requires that the role normally requires a degree in a specific field, not just any bachelor's degree. Engineering project manager descriptions that emphasize technical scope, engineering judgment, and design oversight are stronger than those focused purely on coordination or scheduling.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA and visa paperwork
Once your employer confirms sponsorship, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage the LCA submission, DS-160, and consulate preparation. This prevents filing errors that can delay your start date or trigger unnecessary requests from the consulate.

Find Engineering Project Manager JobsEngineering Project Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Engineering Project Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Engineering Project Manager roles where employers have confirmed they'll sponsor the E-3 visa. Standard job searches don't filter by visa type, so you often waste time on applications where sponsorship isn't available. Migrate Mate surfaces roles matched to E-3 eligibility, so you start from a pool of confirmed opportunities.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Engineering Project Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, construction management, or a directly related technical field. Roles that emphasize engineering judgment, technical oversight, and scope management qualify more clearly than those framed around general coordination. USCIS looks at whether the degree requirement is genuine and field-specific, not just a listed preference.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Engineering Project Manager roles?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply at any point after receiving a job offer. The H-1B has an 85,000-slot cap with a random lottery, meaning most applicants wait a year or more and may not be selected at all. For Australians, the E-3 is a direct path where the H-1B is largely a waiting game.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as an Engineering Project Manager?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp before re-entering the U.S. if you travel internationally. You can begin working for the new employer immediately after the LCA is certified and the employer has issued a new support letter, without waiting for a new visa stamp if you remain inside the U.S.
