Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Security Project Manager
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
U.S. hiring managers may not recognise Australian certifications like AIPM qualifications. Map your credentials to U.S.-equivalent frameworks, PMP, CISSP, or CISM, and include both versions on your resume to clear specialty occupation scrutiny.
Target employers with active security project backlogs
Federal contractors, healthcare systems, and financial institutions running multi-year infrastructure or compliance programs regularly hire Security Project Managers. These employers have ongoing security mandates that justify E-3 sponsorship more readily than companies with ad-hoc project needs.
Ask about LCA timeline before accepting an offer
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before your visa appointment. LCA certification typically takes seven business days, but that window must fit into your start date planning. Confirm the employer understands this step before you resign from your current role.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to streamline your process
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages your LCA filing and consulate preparation end-to-end. This avoids the coordination errors that delay start dates when employers unfamiliar with E-3 requirements handle the paperwork themselves.
Clarify visa support scope during salary negotiation
E-3 sponsorship requires the employer to attest to a prevailing wage via the LCA. Raise visa support explicitly during offer negotiation, not after. Employers who hesitate at this stage often lack the HR infrastructure to file correctly and on time.
Document scope of authority to satisfy specialty occupation evidence
USCIS scrutinises Security Project Manager titles because the word 'manager' can suggest generalist duties. Gather job descriptions, project charters, and organisational charts that show your role requires a specialised security degree, not broad management experience.

Find Security Project Manager JobsSecurity Project Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Security Project Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals seeking E-3 sponsorship. Search Security Project Manager roles directly on Migrate Mate to find employers who understand E-3 requirements and are open to sponsoring Australian candidates, without sifting through listings from employers unfamiliar with the visa.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Security Project Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as information security, computer science, or engineering. Roles that accept any degree or substitute experience for education without a clear field requirement are harder to qualify. The job description and your credentials both need to show a direct connection between the degree field and the role's core duties.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Security Project Managers?
The E-3 has a 10,500 annual cap that has never been reached, so there's no lottery and no random exclusion. H-1B applicants in the same role face a registration lottery with historically low selection rates and can wait years for a slot. For Australian Security Project Managers, the E-3 means a predictable consulate appointment process rather than an uncertain registration outcome.
Can I switch employers while on an E-3 as a Security Project Manager?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new visa stamp at a consulate if your current stamp has expired. You can start working for the new employer once the LCA is certified and the employer has the supporting documentation ready. There's no portability provision like some other visa categories, so timing your transition carefully with your employer's filing readiness matters.
